Trek N Eat NRG-5 Compact Emergency Food Ration, 9 Blocks, 500 g

I found that after waking up with a dry mouth, after eating the first small chunk, I needed water to eat the subsequent chunks otherwise it wasn't going down my foodpipe. It also doesn't taste very good and having eaten cardboard as a very young kid, the taste almost reminds me of that, but I was able to eat it, its not like there's a strong smell or anything.The box expiry date is 2040. Note that 3 sachets (each sachet contains 2 bars) must be eaten 3 times a day. So that's 9 sachets (an entire box) to meet your daily caloric requirements for an averagely active male. I think in a survival scenario it might be useful as long as you don't have a dry mouth, and some water to drink nearby, otherwise for a casual camper like me it doesn't taste very good and as an experiment was worth it, but no value beyond that. Other people might disagree with my assessment, but this is my humble opinion.I should add that it is most likely possible to make this into some kind of 'porridge' if you crumble a bar and stir in a pot with water, either hot or cold, and I did find water made it much more palatable and easier to eat.

As expected

This was way too expensive and nowhere near the same taste as BP5. Will not be ordering again.
