Excellent Lighting Choice for Planted Tanks
I have several of these on a few different tanks of various sizes. 18" up to 36". These lights are exceptional. The programming function is a valuable aspect of this light. Takes a second to figure out but once you do it's easy. I can also control all of my lights with one controller which is quite convenient, and provides an identical experience for all of my tanks. Highly recommend this light. In the included photo is my 29g, heavily planted tank. There is a 24" at water level and a 30" on the riser. I use no co2 or chemical filtration. Just a filter with rocks and sponges, the plants do the rest of the filtration. This tank is also stocked more than conventional thought would allow. There are about 45 or 50 fish in there between the top, middle, and bottom sections. Which means a high bioload. Healthy, thriving plants filter your water. Good lighting and lots of food allow plants to flourish. There's also very little algae. Which means the plants are sucking up all of the nutrients. And that is largely in part to the lighting being sufficient to penetrative the water and provide the energy needed to convert all of those nutrients into growth.

A wonderful light!
For the money the brightness, programmability, and color is a huge value.First of all and most importantly the color of these is excellent, the CRI on these I would say is very good, I’m gauging this by eye I’ve seen enough to make a fairly good assessment. Colors look correct they aren’t dull nor do they unnaturally pop. If you cast it on a white wall the wall remains white (a good test for how white the light is).The light have a factory and custom 24/7 mode or on and off programmable mode, which makes the light very customizable and the 24/7 is pretty smooth.Pro: If you get multiple lights they all stay programmed together, making adjusting all your tanks easy.Con: If you get multiple lights they stay programmed together making individual tank adjustments not possible if the lights are next to each other. You can do it if they’re let’s say 25feet or so away but each needs its own remote and you can’t bring one remote near the other light or it will switch to its programming. To answer the question for the planted tank enthusiasts.Tank depth(front to back) 12”Low to medium/high light- 1 lightHigh to ultra high light-2 lightsTank depth 18”Low-1 lightMedium to medium/high light- 2 lightsHigh to ultra high light-3 lightsIf I had to put this light in a competition I would put it against higher end lights and upper mid range lights not lower end value lights even at its price point. If you’re on the wall, get it. If you’re saying I want to save $30 and get a cheaper light, spend the $30 and you will be more than $30 happy for it. Remember the light is what shows you all the work you put into the tank and you’re going to look at it for years! Realistically the difference between your tank looking good and amazing may be $1 a month over 2 years, why would you do yourself such a disservice after putting in so much work into your tank? Your scenery will look better, your animals will look better, your plants will look better and be happier which in turn makes them healthier which makes them look even better!Get it!

Good
I've only had the light a few days now so I can't review long term. Overall it's a strong light I bought the 28" version. Strong light with a ton of customization. How functional the customization is I'm a little skeptical of. There's almost too customizable. A bit confusing on the remote. The light also gets rather warm running at 100 which my other lights don't. Overall pretty pleased though.

Great Light 30w 24"+
Well built light with very convenient & useful features built in. It has a metal enclosure & feels very solid with a little weight to it. There's plenty of light beads that produce more than enough light for my 20 gal tank. I meant to order 1 size down but made a mistake. It just fit luckily. The unit is also waterproof. If you're setting your light just above the water resting on the tank this is a good feature to have. Water & condensation are sure to get into the light over time if it's not completely sealed. The scheduling functions are really nice to have. It comes preprogrammed or there's a DIY mode. The remote with scheduling is a little cumbersome, but easy enough with a little patience and 15 minutes of your time. The light emitted is perfect for planted tanks. My plants are pearling like crazy! I'm extremely satisfied with this light. If you're considering a cheaper brand to save a few bucks, don't waste your time. Been there, regretted & wish I'd gotten this one to start with.

No good for multiple tanks
I bought 2 of these lights and the remote links them together. Which would seem like a good thing. I only need to set one light right? Wrong each light produced it's own color spectrum. When choosing color spectrum for one light a different spectrum would occur for the 2nd light. I couldn't get the 2 lights on the same spectrum. Maybe because one light was for a 30 inch tank and the other was for a 20 inch tank. I don't know but since both lights used the same remote frequency I could not set them separately and my second tank coloration was always off. Also, I found the remote difficult to uses the directions where confusing in the manual. I found the directions on the Amazon website easier to understand. I don't recommend this light. The hygger hg028 smart aquarium light is easier to use and a better brighter light, with simple to use pre-settings and the ability to create your own settings as well. I recommend spending a little bit more and getting a much better light.
