You can clearly see the techniques that are taught. When I learned fitting it was make a test garment and correct from there. So this method seems a bit strange to me. but watching and following along with a pattern it is practical. After giving it a go I will stick to my preferred method. I really like the fact that she uses woven and non woven garments, as well as garments with darts and without darts. Definitely a no frills well put together dvd. For $20.00 this dvd is definitely worth it, if you have a full bust. The DVD is around 2 hours of instruction and its best to watch from beginning to end without skipping any parts at least at first.Would I buy this again? No, as I am not a fan of the tissue fitting method and have had tons of practice with full busted pattern alterations but if you are a beginner this dvd is a nice one to have. Might I also suggest Craftsy Full Bust class with Jenny Rushmore, I cannot rave enough about that class and the enormous amount of information given in it.There are some things this dvd misses. For example she states to check the back but does not show how to correct the back for fitting errors. She also does not go over the uses of the waist dart when doing an FBA as you can use the Waist dart for fitting when doing and FBA if you need to make it bigger or smaller . I find most people with a big bust but small waist could have used that information.With all that being said this is still a solid dvd.

I had been wanting to get this dvd for a while, but kept putting it off. Now, I'm so glad I finally bought it because this dvd has really has changed my motivation for sewing and altering patterns to fit my size 46H bust. I am a believer now of using the high bust measurement and then doing the Y-bust cup alteration. I had heard of this type of alteration in a sewing book, but seeing Marta explain it and demonstrate it was well worth the price of the dvd.With this dvd, all types of bust adjustments are explained, demonstrated and clearly filmed. Patty does an excellent job with the camera work and the lighting is just right! I really appreciated seeing the different types of bust adjustments done on true plus-sized women and not just thin, young women who might only need an adjustment of 1/2 inch!What has helped my sewing the most is the info on adjusting princess seams. Marta does such an excellent job of explaining/demonstrating how to do a 3 inch adjustment on princess seams. Yes, there's a Craftsy course on bust adjustments, but the Craftsy course only covers basic bust adjustments, doesn't mention the Y-cup adjustment and you don't get a chance to see the instructor tissue fit a real, plus-sized models.Well, I can't say enough about this video! If you're plus-sized and want to sew patterns that fit you in the bust, then this dvd is a must for your sewing library! Don't wait to get it like I did!!!

This DVD certainly lived up to my expectations! You can watch the whole video or select segments. I would recommend watching the entire video first and then go back to specific sections. This video is topic specific and focuses solely on the full bust adjustment (FBA), so even though Marta refers to additional adjustments made on some patterns, she only shows how to do the FBA. If you need other pattern alterations, you will need to refer to other sources on how to make those adjustments.What I particulary like about this DVD is Marta shows how to do a full bust adjustment (FBA) for styles not normally addressed in many alterations books, specfically an empire waist with underbust gathers, a twist front top, and a top with a cut-on sleeve. For myself, the twist front and cut-on sleeve alterations alone were worth the price. Some knowledge of sewing is assumed, but the steps are clear and a beginning sewer can do this alteration if she is willing to start with a simple darted blouse or top.

This is an awesome DVD!!! Marta Alto has to be one of the better sewing instructors. Her directions are very clear and she comes across as personable, yet an expert. You really feel as if you are getting the benefit of her years in the industry.Perhaps the best part of this DVD is that you see different styles on three models, including Marta. I also appreciate seeing how to do FBAs on wrap, empire waist and twist-tie garments. The DVD also covers the Y dart for people who need to add more than 1 1/4" (I think 1 1/4" is the amount.) The video provides wonderful tips on sewing darts and how to shape them.My one criticism is the production quality. It is very dark; it seems like the area was poorly lit for filming.This is a must have video for those who have to do FBAs.

I wish I hadn't put off buying this DVD for as long as I did, because in the process of relying on books and internet tutorials, I've made 3 knit muslins and 4 woven muslins on 2 different patterns that are barely (if at all) wearable, and the fit still isn't right! This DVD addressed every question I had (and many I hadn't encountered yet), and the entire process now makes perfect sense. It seems so simple now that an expert has explained the hows and whys. I have several very good sewing and fitting books, but seeing the process demonstrated in real time is invaluable. I'm actually excited to try again on my previously semi-failed FBA patterns. The explanations and demonstrations in this video are clear and well articulated. I do wish the video was in HD, but the content is invaluable. I finally understand the full bust adjustment, after several months of failed attempts.

Superb! Its true they say if you have a larger bust you wear baggy clothes to fasten them at the front but the main garment just doesn't fit. This DVD shows how to choose a pattern size that will fit your body and alter the pattern to accommodate your fuller bust.Some of the production quality is a let down but don't be put off the content is well worth a bit of jelly sound or dark set here and there.

I cannot recommend this lady enough to all sewers,regardless of experience!! I have sewed for years being a half size in everything. Anything I buy off the peg has to be altered, but what I learned from this dvd in the first 20mins has changed the way I shop let alone sew. So it is very simply made,but she has a great technique in explaining everything really well. It is as useful as good scissors,do not hesitate to buy

Wish I had bought this years ago. I have many books on fitting but this DVD is the most useful as it shows you how to do it. I learn by watching and therefore this is like having a teacher in your home when you need one. Well worth the money. Having bought this I then backed it up with the book and feel they are the only ones I will go to from now on.

At last, now I finally understand. I have struggled so much getting home made clothes to fit my bust, shoulders and armholes properly. This DVD explains it all, even the alterations needed for complex pattern styles. I am so grateful.My family laughed at me for buying myself BIG GIRL PORN for Christmas. If only they knew just how exciting this DVD really is for the home dressmaker.With so many thanks
