Took a while to begin to crack so helped it along by using warm water. It took almost 3 days to hatch with the excitement building each time the cracks got bigger. Grand-daughter loved it. The only down side was the dinosaur inside was hard plastic and a bit slimey but once it dried out was OK. The best bit is definitely waiting for it to hatch but my grand-daughter still has the shell and often puts other dinos in pretending to wait for them to hatch so I would recommend this toy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Didn't quite go to plan but we have grown a dinosaur *by D***H on 25 March 2021* It was a good gimic gift which our 2.5 Yr old loved watching grow and transform. Disappointingly the egg split in the middle along the manufacturing seam so it didn't really hatch so much as pop out like a kinder egg toy, however leaving it in it's water for the next 10 days or so really let it grow and left us with a slightly faded dinosaur which is less spongey than expected.
