Perfect book.
Excellent song book from the acoustic master. A great selection of songs included from Berts back catalogue. Detailed notes on each song. One of the best music books I've bought. Every level catered for, some really simple. Some a bit more challenging, but not really challenging. Beginner or advanced players who love Berts music will benefit from this great book 10/10 excellent.

Complete book!
I was so pleasantly surprised when I saw that this book is so much more than just a tab book. It contains historical background on Bert Jansch, the songs, info on the guitars he played and so many other interesting facts that makes this a very valuable and unique book on this great guitarist. The tabs are accurate and well researched. Not surprised by this since its coming from the Bert Jansch Foundation, reinforcing the quality of this book and making it an absolute gem for anyone who appreciates Bert Jansch.

Marvellous piece of work
Oh god I love Bert Jansch’s music so much and the folks over at the Bert Jansch Foundation have done a wonderful job transcribing this. Everything about this book is just awesome. Some of the fingerings chosen seem unnecessarily difficult but you can sub in your own if you need to. In fact, they often give alternative fingerings of select passages in the introductory section of the sings. I had to rework quitea bit of Birthday Blues for instance though.A truly great transcription befitting a truly great musician. Well done all involved and can’t wait for volume II!

This is a beautiful book. Avoiding the trappings of most generic musical notation books this offers so much more. Clearly, the authors were passionate about reproducing accurate and reflective key compositions by Jansch and this is clear from the first piece of music. However, there is far more to harp on about. The background behind each song, along with the intricacies in his playing at particular bars help to guide you as you pick each alphabetically presented piece. Each song is accorded a rating for ease of playing with one being the easiest and three the most challenging; obviously, if you're seeking 'easy' music you've come to the wrong place, but that, after all, is part of the fun. There are also some stunning colourful photographic pages which show you his guitars played throughout his career, most notably his Yamaha collection.I genuinely look forward to (hopefully) increasing my own repertoire and gaining some understanding of the guitar from such a wonderful source. A must for all acoustic guitar fans.

Great book
I’ve been a big fan of Bert Jansch since the seventies and now this book has been put together by fellow enthusiasts with a lot of knowledge of Bert’s style and technique and then there’s a great selection of his songs brilliantly transcribed in standard notion and tab also the quality of the print is good unlike the Mel Bay books. If you are a Bert Jansch fan get this book you won’t regret it.

Very Very good.
If you want to learn some of Bert Jansch tunes and songs this is the book to have.It covers both the simpler pieces and the more difficult e.g. ReynardineAnd the preamble about the tunes and playing method, including variations Bert played over time, excellent. It is not for fingerstyle beginners. But if you are already good at fingerstyle and want to learn something different then this book should fit the bill.Look for Bert Jansch on Youtube to see if you like his styleI never saw Bert play live when I was younger and that's my loss.

Thorough guidance to learning the playing style of a true virtuoso.
The book is beautifully presented with extensive information about the songs of Bert Jansch and serious detail about his playing style. It's a book for the serious acoustic guitarist yet the transcriptions in standard notation and tablature are in a print size and style that is easy to read. My quibble is that aside from a few obvious favourites - Angie, Blues Run the Game and Strolling Down the Highway, all included and beautifully transcribed - the book focusses on instrumentals and (to me) less well known numbers, so to get full value from this volume, be prepared to put in some serious listening.

Great book for learning Bert Jansch.
Bert Jansch is a legend and a very important figure in british fingerstyle guitar, this book is a must if you are learning fingerstyle guitar, this book has a nice variety of his songs to learn, his fingerpicking can be challenging to some but if you put the effort in you will be greatly rewarded. Highly Recommended.
