Exact replacement
Exact fit and somewhat flexible, which is the purpose to absorb any shocks. Have seen solid metal ones, but that will end up breaking other things(motor, gears, etc$$$) instead of the coupler itself. My original one lasted about 20 years. So the second one I may never need. A little tricky to install, but it is DIY doable.

Worked perfect. Fixed my garage door and now I have an extra. Also for my garage door the original part was hard plastic. This is more of a flexible hard rubber type material so it won’t get brittle and break like the original part. Happy with this purchase

It works, BUT.
I worked, but this in not an OEM part. It is made of polypropylene in stead of ABS like the OEM coupler. Polypropylene is more flexible. we will see how it holds up over time. I saw some aluminium coupler. I thought those might be too rigid. Time will tell.
