I love this little machine
I love this little machine. Extremely easy to use, very good quality for this price. Scanning is very fast and because the images (JPEG) are stored on a memory card the operating system of the computer is not relevant. All Windows or Mac computers can be used - no restrictions at all. The size of the scans is between 900 and 1,000 kB (5MP). Using the 10MP resolution does not give you any visible advantage. It only makes the files bigger. The description on the website says that the scanner supports SD-cards up to 4GB. I had a spare 16GB card which I put in the scanner and it told me, that I can store nearly 18,000 photographs, which means the scanner can address the whole 16GB (I just saw on the box that the scanner can address up to 32GB). If you don't want to print your pictures in A4 format this scanner is absolutely fantastic.

Easy enough to use
Did the job on about 300 slides then inexplicably stopped working. Returned and reimbursed. Easy enough to use.

Poor quality scans
I'm afraid the quality of the scanned images using this product to process my colour slide collection is very poor. The graininess and poor definition is a great disappointment for the price of this product. These slides have projected onto screens in the past to sharp definition, but this scanner is downgrading their quality far too much. The instructions appear to have been written by aliens, and are just nonsensical. The received product's controls do not match the image in the instructions, and even the quality of the menu images is poor. The fairly plain brown box it arrives in says "Made in China", but no clue as to who the manufacturer is, it just says "FILM SCANNER"!. The blurb on Amazon has 2 names 'Pidien' and 'Tech Code', so not much help there.

Dislikes = complicated push button operation, limited feed cassettes.Likes + good quality reproduction, unit well made,

Read instructions properly.
On the whole the scanner worked well. I was scanning slides that were between 50 and 60 years old. Some had not stood the test of time but the rest scanned well.Good value.

Flawed
Easy to use. Once scanned, the quality is ok from 35mm negatives. Loading the slider with a negative strip is fiddly and not easy - I don't bother to fix with the top piece of the slider; it would just take toooooooooo long.

Check You Tube for clearer instructions.
Bought this to save some 50-year old colour slides. The instructions are puzzling and not very clear, but by trial and error, and You Tube, I found the right menu path to get what I required. Once conquered, the system is very easy to use, very quick to scan, and although the quality is not brilliant, at least I have saved those old memories.

Simple and Easy to use.
Overall prodct is fit for purpose....converting negatives to JPEG files!!Software is abit basic..in that you do not have many options for pic enhancement....would need to oepn teh resulting JPEG in another app to do more enhancement!
