Need a House? Call Ms. Mouse!

I was born in 1981 when this book was first published and it was my favorite book for the entirety of my childhood. For years when asked what I wanted to be when I grow up, my answer was an architect. This book is BEAUTIFULLY illustrated, written with wit and lovely pacing, and just very very special. It is OG women in STEM - there is just so much to love! How perfect that it’s being rereleased the year my niece is born! I still have my 1981 copy, but so glad I can buy this as my preferred baby gift again.

This book was a childhood favorite. For years I've wanted to own a copy but since there was only one edition printed copies were prohibitively expensive. The delight I felt when I saw it was being reprinted and the joy I felt when I finally received a copy brought me back to the wonder I felt as a child as I looked at the illustrations. Thank you for reprinting this book and making it more widely available for adults who loved this book as child and now for a new generation of children to enjoy and be inspired.

This was one of my favorite books as a child. I was able to keep a copy (from the 1980s) and I am so happy they reprinted it so I could share with my sister and my son, who both also love it. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous, with such clarity and we constantly talk about which "houses" we love best. Definitely a good purchase.

What a clever book. Boggles the mind. This is inspirational for any creative child or adult. Buy it even if you're 80 years old you will love it.

I had this book as a kid, it recently, mysteriously vanished. Finally got my hands on another copy, granted this is the UK version, same art, different writing - but i'm a happy camper all the same! This book is in near mint condition, really happy...

This is a wonderful book! Had it 20 or more years ago with my son and just reordered for the next generation. It’s a wonderful prelude to designing & creating your own animal home using “found objects”. Our project went on for days/weeks!

I purchased this book for my daughter when she was about 8 years old.She somehow lost it amongst various moves. She is now an Architecture student and is 28 years old.All she wanted for Christmas was for me to track down a copy of this book.So hard to find, but I found it on Amazon. She is extremely pleased. Twas the best ever Christmas present she said.Amazon comes through again, finding the almost impossible. thank you.

This was one of my children's favourite books from the library. After they were adults, I wanted to use the book in an adult education class on home design and tried to buy it. It was out of print. I toyed with the idea of stealing the library copy. I didn't actually do it, but I was thrilled to find that in 2023 the book has been reissued! Just in time for my grandchildren. And for adults who want to use their imaginations and meditate on what they are trying to create in their own homes. I cannot rate this book highly enough. Everyone should have a copy.

Leider gab es dann nur noch Nachdrucke bzw. überteuerte Exemplare auf Versteigerungsplattformen zu erwerben. Durch einen Zufall bin ich auf die Englische Variante gestoßen, welche original gebunden ist.Zum Inhalt möchte ich nicht zu viel Spoilern. Henriette ist eine Architekten-Maus die für ihre tierischen Freunde prachtvolle Bleiben baut. Es gibt dabei so viel zu entdecken und die Zeichnungen sind sehr liebevoll und detailliert. Selbst wenn man noch nicht lesen kann, ist dieses Buch zum anschauen und entdecken für die Kleinen Helden top geeignet.Greift zu solange es noch Ausgaben gibt - dieses Buch ist einfach ein MUSS für Groß und Klein :-)

My son really enjoyed having this book read to him at bedtime. It is a lovely story with wonderful illustrations. Enjoyable for reader and listener alike!
