Not bad at all, good sander
Looked for ages for a decent strip sander, going through review after review looking for something decently priced that wont break in 2 mins but wouldn't break the bank! This came out as top of the list for me based on above and it delivered! Got my stairs done in no time, make sure you get good sandpaper and boom, your work will be done before you know it. Its speed was great being 800w and the dust collection bag worked great, not to bad to handle with its weight being distributed evenly. Obviously there is vibration so make sure you take breaks, tho I've used other sanders that make your hands feel like needles for hrs, this is a lot more easier to use for time periods then others I have used. Its still going strong now, used it for many projects, was a worthy purchase.

Good belt sander
Seems to be a good bit of kit for the price.

No dust extraction
This machine is very good for the price. It is heavy and powerful and will require control with 2 hands otherwise it will run away from you. I used this for a pine box and the sander melted through the wood. I am only rating this 4* as the dust extraction is terrible. The bag included does not catch much dust and the odd rectangular shape of the pipe means you cannot attach a dust vac. I would have liked a variable speed, but for this price point I understand that's a luxury. It was either this or the Makita I was going to buy and I'm glad I chose this instead as its done the job for £200 less. Would recommend.

Fantastic sander
Fantastic sander, hold on to it because it will fly off. Great weight. Collects some dust but better attached to a hoover. Makes sanding easier.

Great machine for the price. Really imprressed. BUT if you don't have time and the area is large, hire a big floor sander.
At this price, why not? This assumes time is not a premium for you OR the size of the area to be sanded is not huge. Time is not an issue for me, so I bought this tool to renovate an old and quite neglected large area of decking. I am very pleased with it. My decking was in desperate need of TLC, but the majority of the timber boards (NOT grooved type - smooth surface) was structurally sound and so I could sand back to good in all but a few areas where some of the planks need replacing. I recommend firstly using "Green Gone" or similar product to kill the mould, algae, wood fungus and mycelium. No need to power-wash - once the timbers are fully dry, then sand with this machine. You will need a few belts of different grades (easily available and cheap). 40 grit is perhaps a bit too severe, so I used mainly 60 girt and 80 grit to get the wood back to a really nice finish, with the grain visible, without damaging the timber surface too much. Do NOT try and sand wet timbers - it just clogs up the belt and you get no-where. After "opening up" the surface with the sander, I applied a Wood Preservative to penetrate the timbers and provide lasting protection against mould, fungi and algae coming back. This can be applied even if the timbers are a little damp, it still penetrates. I have not yet finished, but intend to finally apply decking oil (2 coats) to the DRY timbers. This will need repeating every year. This machine has restored a great finish to a deck that was being considered for (expensive) replacement at a very low price. It will not need sanding every year, but power-washing followed by re-oiling once fully dry should keep it looking good for a few years.

lasted 6 months , avoid!
lasted 6 months! do yourself a favour and avoid , the sander motor works fine but what happens is the belts cut into the plastic surround and gouges a hole in it which jams the belt to the point it is completely useless , , i mean seriously a bit of design forethought to have made the area nearest the belt out of metal

Decent, but gets very hot
I've used this sander hard for about 10hrs, mostly with very aggressive grits - its a hell of a workout. The sander is very powerful, but I've been using it at about 2-4c ambient temperature. With this low ambient temperature, the motor housing area is around 65c. In summer, I can't see this doing very well, if you increase the ambient temperature by 20-30c, the machine will be over 80c at which point I think the wiring/motor windings are going to be in trouble. The belts cut through the housing at the back, as there is nothing to keep the belts tracking. It can accommodate slightly different length belts easily, as there is an adjustment knob on the front for length - but no tracking adjustment. The belts I used all tracked pretty well so it wasn't an issue for me. The belts came off too hot to touch, certainly gets things toasty when you work it hard. The dust bag is laughable. I filled a 40litre vacuum to the brim with sawdust, but the little dust bag was only about 1/4 full. All that being said, it did what I needed it to do without complaint, and I'm sure it will be fine in summer but it will either need long, regular breaks or to be babied so as not to overheat and reduce its lifespan considerably.

Fantastic tool
I only needed this belt sander for a bit of a one off job sanding smooth some telegraph poles for a playground. The works hard going on the tools and the material is technically hazardous so I bought this to be a bit of a disposable tool. The thing performed way above my expectations given it's price and brand. I've ended up keeping, it will only come out again for the next tough job on chewy treated timber but i suspect this wing keep on going. I went through over 20 belts with this in two days of fairly continuous use and it's still going as strong as it did when it started.
