Be smart. Do NOT buy anything made iSimple
I bought this because my previous cable was making a loud static noise in my truck. This new cable for fine but made a terrible whining feedback noise, so I returned it for a refund. I called iSimple who said this wire I bought from Amazon was the wrong one, so I bought the “right” one directly from iSimple. When it arrived, it looked exactly the same as the others but had a different model number. After plugging it in, relieved that I finally was going to be able to listen to my iPhone music while driving again, the cable made the EXACT same annoying whining/feedback sound. When I called iSimple about a refund, I had to explain the issue to Mike three times. He blamed the problem on the iSimple gateway box but would not offer a refund. Mike sounded irritated that I had called him at all.Be smart. Do NOT buy iSimple products.

Killed 2 iPhones and 1 iPod
The cable itself is of good quality and the connectors are solid. I purchased as a replacement cable for an Peripheral device we have installed in our car that connects our iPhone/iPod to the Toyota car stereo. The cable that came with the device worked, but the connector came apart after about six months. Since installing the new connector, which did work fine as it relates to the stereo integration, two iPhones (4S) and one iPod (classic) have been made inoperable. After the first iPhone died, we obtained a new one under warranty, and the new one died within a week. Not sure if it is giving a power surge, but whatever is happening did not happen with the old cable. I would not recommend this cable for the Peripheral iPod/iPhone auto interface. I guess not all PAC cables are made the same.

No Complaints (be sure to check my uploaded image)!
There isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said in another review, but I will keep this short and sweet.- This cable is for the Gateway and Gateway SAT system ONLY. It will NOT work for the PXDP/Soundbyte system.- This cable contains a "fuse box" like module halfway down the cable, which the original units did not have, but the cable still works (check my upload pic).- The cable is noticeably thicker than the original and I have hopes that will hold up better than the original... We'll see.All in all, you can't beat the price. If you're experiencing issues with your cable just buy this one and swap it out.UPDATE - My cable stopped working within 24 hours and I had it professionally installed. Dropping 3 stars.

Good quality cable for car
I added this on my 2005 Honda Accord navigation with the aux connection. I paid a shop to add this and after a year it brought so I went on YouTube to find out how to DIY and did it by buying this. Works good and it's super long (11 ft) were it reaches the back seats from the front. Either way it's a good product. It plays & charges the iPhone 4. As of now they don't make the connection for the Lightning cable for the car to navigation so I had to buy an Apple Lightning to 30 pin cable. So by having the added cable I play my iPad mini/iPhone 5,6 with this iSimple charging cable. It took me about an hour to complete the job. It was easy and be careful not to break your trim parts. Good look and look at YouTube videos.

I don’t like that it doesn’t snap and fit all the way ...
If you have an older model of any iSimple audio component before 2012, you’ll want to invest in one of these if you plan to use an iPhone or iPod manufactured before 2013. This cord charges your iPhone or iPod while in use or not aslong as the radio is powered on. The cable is long, way too long for my liking but understandable for some installations. So far I’ve had no issues with the cable, I don’t like that it doesn’t snap and fit all the way on the iSimple brain like the original cable.

Exact replacement.
The original lasted almost 8 years. I hooked it up before routing it & worked as desired. I dinged it on durability as the 30 pin connector failed with a short. The installation rating probably isn't fair as it's dependent on the car. I would second another reviewers comment about the "Lightning" connector. But the reality is that almost ALL after market lightning adapter cables are crap & either don't work at first or die quickly.

Much better than cable that came with gateway unit.
As others mentioned before, this cable is for the GATEWAY system.I bought this cord because the original one that was included when I purchased the gateway system for my car completely came apart at the end and had wires sticking out that would spark when it touched metal. So I obviously had to get a new one.Thankfully, this cable is a lot more sturdy and durable than the original one. It's thicker and has more protection around the area where the cord and the piece you plug into your phone meet (which is what came apart on the original I had). Plus it was easy to install and was completely compatible with my gateway system. Not sure why the original cables were so cheaply made, but it was obvious by looking at its materials. Sometimes it wouldn't even fit properly in my phone. The new cord fixes all of this. Like some others mentioned, it has this box attached to the cord that seemed weird because it didn't come with my original one, but I've been using it a week now and it hasn't caused any problems. I just wish this cord had come with the original one.

Not compatible with PXDP / "Soundbyte" !
Do not order this cable if you have a PXDP/Soundbyte module. The picture is different than what you get and this cable does NOT work with the PXDP/Soundbyte module. (If you have an ISGM73 kit, you have a PXDP and this is not the replacement cable for you.)I for one find the PAC/Peripheral/iSimple overlapping product lines and naming conventions insanely convoluted and confusing. Hopefully this will help someone not waste their time.
