Vermiculite Micafil 100 Ltr Pack Void Loose Back Fill Medium Grade flexible flue

I ordered this to use as insulation in a bread oven I am constructing. I found it to be of very good quality and extremely clean and easy to use, which allowed me to complete the job quickly. Having used vermiculite before, I am confident that it will do the job.

I use this to hydrate plants in pots and raise seedlings in my greenhouse and this 100 Ltr pack will last me about a year. It is much more economical than buying smaller packs in garden centers. The vermiculite pack was advertised as Back Fill material for building purposes and reading its properties made me realise I could also use it to help keep plants warm in my small cold frames by back filling around their pots and trays....so, one happy gardener and happy to recommend.

Used it for insulating concrete at a 5:2:1 mix of Vermiculite: Cement: Sand and found the consistency just right for the job. You may want to experiment with the mix for whatever job you are doing with it. You definitely want something to hold it together unless you are burying it as it is very light and will blow away unless contained.It is so light you can pick up a 100Ltr bag with two fingers.

The vermiculite was easy to use and handy to pour into the cavity.

Bought to mix with compost for my new build clay garden. Most plants are in pots for now, I repotted everything with 40-50% vermiculite/50-60% compost and everything is doing much better. Even though there's loads, I've just ordered a second bag as I've used up the first one. Very happy with the product. Also like the tip to use it as insulation for plants in winter, might try that too. :)

Purchased this to seal a wood burning boiler flue that passed through a cavity wall. Followed instructions mixing with small quantity of water and packed out the void between wall and flue before rendering over with mortar mix. Once I got the consistancy right it held together nicely and did the job I purchased it for admirably and has created a safe fire proof job. Quantity was far more than I needed which was a double whammy as my wife seconded the surplus and is using it to mix with potting compost for her greenhouse plants as it is great for retaining moisture. Great multi purpose product.

Spot on for fireplace back fill when combined with cement

I bought this to mix a mortar back-fill to an iron fireplace. It IS a very large bag and will more than serve for the job I for which bought it.
