Great concept, excellent game.
This is good fun, well thought out, and good quality. For smaller children you can adapt the game to not only be shorter, but easier (numbers up to 10, addition/subtraction). For older children the game can be made longer and more difficult (multiplications & divisions, larger numbers, squares, etc.). There are 2 sets of cards for game play with younger/older children, which is actually a great idea. Collaborative game makes this ideal also for everyone helping each other out.Kids really don't know they're doing maths if you focus on game play, and they quickly get used to working with the numbers and get better over a couple of plays. Parents enjoyed it as much as the kids. It's really not as complicated as people make out on the reviews. If the instructions are too much for you, then you can easily adapt the game as needed... but it's really not difficult to understand game play. (drop the rules that are too hard, the core concept and play of the game is solid enough to lose some of the extra rules/actions should you wish to leave them out)If you aren't keen on maths or strong at maths, this can be adapted to use basic arithmetic. The game is a good starting point should you want to challenge or simplify.Watch the reviews on you tube - they'll even walk through game play for you and rules if you need them.

Maths in a Cool Zombie Way!
This is a fantastic game which you can make harder (by using different level of cards) or easier depending on the age of your children. My two really wanted Zombiecide (as their Auntie has it) which is really an adult Zombie game - and a lot more expensive. This runs on a similar principle, but a simpler version, the kids can play it on their own, too. They great thing is they work together... (like Zombiecide) so no arguments (like Monopoly). My boys are 8 (nearly 9) and 11 and love it! I got it for them for Christmas (after reading all the great reviews for it on Amazon).Although it's not a cheap board game, it's really worth it!And it's so cool, because you are doing maths but in a really fun way!

Fun game that gets your kids practicing their mental arithmetic!
I bought a copy of this game for my kids last Christmas. The concept is fairly simple. It plays a bit like the final stand of a zombie survival game, but the weapons the survivors have are dice and maths. The cards and board are really nicely drawn and everything comes in nice little zip lock bags to keep it neat. The instructions aren't as indepth as I'd like, but as a co-operative game you tend to find yourself working out and playing house rules all the time anyway. Overall this is a great game to get your kids keen on maths again. It really gets them practicing their mental arithmetic. It's also great fun! We had the ultimate edition. We haven't bought any of the expansions yet.

Great fun.
This is a fantastic game. My 11 year old daughter (who claims to hate maths) and my 8 yr old son love this game, as do I. Great way to interact with the kids in a positive constructive team building way, oh and it's gets them doing some maths. I say it like that as it does not shove it in your face, it's a natural part of the game and does not feel staged like some maths products. The game is also versatile enough to suit a span of different levels, we started using the very basic version and we are looking forward to progressing . It is also non-competitive so players are not working against each other which also means you can play it on your own or with children that might have difficulties losing. Loved it!

Great Game for fun and maths mastery!
The instructions take some concentration however we started simply and had a few goes. Then we watched a few demo vids on you tube with people watching the games which was very helpful. The children get bored waiting to hear how to play so have a practise on your own or with another adult first so that you can explain the rules as play evolves. It also gives you a chance to make up a little story to introduce the game setting! My 6, 9 and 13 year old enjoyed playing this. Once you've mastered the rules it is a lot of fun and worth the effort.

Can't recommend this highly enough!
Absolutely fantastic game the whole family loves especially as you play collaboratively rather than against each other. The game undoubtedly increases and improves mental arithmetic and problem solving and is a super way to engage kids who think that maths is boring and they are no good. At first the number of different cards can be a little daunting but the instructions are excellent and it's definitely worth checking out the game's great website www.cityofzombies.com where there is video of the game being played.I bought this at xmas and it's also worth mentioning the the games creator who is a lovely chap called me to speak about postage and to make sure I would get it in time so great customer service also.

A great game
This game is essentially maths disguised as a board game. My 7 yo daughter is fully aware of this, but still wants to play - whereas she normally runs a mile from maths activities. Some reviews have mentioned the instructions are complicated. I found there was a quite a bit to read (a few A4 pages) but after 2 games we had the hang of it.There are many options to make the game simpler or more complex; I think this is essential in order to prevent frustration or boredom setting in.Finally, the quality of the board, artwork, etc. is excellent.
