Healthy, happy pups with shiny coats
A wonderful vegan dog food. We've been feeding this to our dogs for many years. They are healthy and happy. And all those veggies make their coats so shiny. Our Corgi is 13.5 years old now and we constantly get asked if he is a puppy. Thanks V-Dog!

My dogs love it!
I found this dog food to be the best for my dogs. I do add a piece of boiled chicken breast to it. I do not like meat in dog food because it is overcooked. My dogs get all the nutrition they need with the v dog and I boil organic chicken and mix it together. They are happy and healthy.

Both Dogs Thriving and Love VDog!
I have 2 dogs. One is a 14 year old Siberian Husky and the other is a 7 year old Red Tick Hound mix. For years they have both been eating a popular commercial brand of dog food. I've always made it a point to periodically check the ingredients label and I do try to keep up with the latest "OMG's" in pet food because let's face it, it isn't the cleanest food industry out there. The nastiness of the commercial industry and the origin of a lot of commercial dog food ingredients is the reason why we decided to make the switch over to VDog.One of the first things that I noticed about the food when I opened the bag was the smell. It's not a bad smell at all but it's definitely not the same as the old food that they were eating. It doesn't smell like fake meat flavoring, it of course has a very veggie smell to it. To me it's like a cross between sweet potato and peas which once you read the ingredient list, it makes sense. The second thing is that the bag is recyclable. Third is that the kibble is green which took me a bit to get used to seeing. They have now been on this dog food for over 2 months. I do supplement the Red Tick Hound with cooked chicken breast once or twice a week, but the Husky is strictly VDog because after we made the switch, whenever she is given the chicken breast she ends up with an upset stomach and things get smelly and ugly really quick so she is technically a vegan dog now. Both dogs love this food and I don't have to bribe either one of them to eat it with a gravy over the top like I used to have to do with their old food. Now that I think back, me having to do that should have been a red flag for me.I wanted to provide them with a better quality food to keep them both healthier and around for as long as possible. I never dreamed that the Husky would show the improvements that she has. Older dogs have a tendency to start having hip problems and unfortunately that is one of her problems. She did a lot of laying around with very little attempts at running and playing until the past couple of weeks. Recently I have been having to try and wind her down again like I did years ago. Her mood has obviously improved too, she looks and acts a lot happier, which is a very positive change that I'm really glad to see.The Red Tick Hound has shown some changes too. His breath oddly enough doesn't smell anymore and his coat is sleek and shiny again. We had noticed that his fur had become wiry and scratchy and with a better quality diet, that changed.Yes, the food price point is higher but you are paying for quality ingredients which in turn will lead to a healthier dog in the long run. I'm very thankful for VDog and will continue to feed it to my dogs and recommend it to others.

Picky eaters liked it
When my usual vegan dog kibble had supply chain issues, I decided to give this a try. My two dogs really seem to like it. I currently have a 10 year old pit bull mix, a 6 year old Chihuahua and five cats. Over the last 17 years I've had 12 cats and dogs on vegetarian diets. My German Shepherd mix lived to 13 after 11.5 years on a veg diet (upper range for a GS whose average life span is 9 to 13). I also have a 15 and 13 year old cat. My oldest cat recently passed away at 17 after 16 years on vegan cat kibble and a few supplements like pumpkin, yeast flakes and lysine. I am currently trying out veg wet foods as well. There are only a handful of wet or dry options for cats, though it's better for dogs.In 30 plus years seeing multiple veterinarians in different cities, I do not recall a single one expressing much interest in what I fed my dog or cat. Like their allopathic counterparts, they are not trained in prevention or nutrition but drugs and surgeries. If they have been out of school 5 or 10 years, they may not even be current on side effects and dangers. (My 17 year cat died after being prescribed overly harsh medication for his age.) Nutritional training consists of a few electives heavily influenced by the pet food industry. Nearly 100% of nutritional information from school and AVMA events comes from large pet food manufacturers who donate copiously to the vet industry. Veterinary schools publish scientific papers funded by... Guess who? Meat based pet food companies have little interest in vegan pet food whilst raking in profits from worthless scraps of diseased animals, parts unfit for human consumption and sundry shocking things ground into gloop, dyed, canned or made into kibble. Nevertheless, it seems what studies have been done have yielded positive results (see Sarah Dodd and Andrew Knight). Also, some veg pet food companies have been around for 30 years.
