Great Inks, excellent quality
These inks are great. I really rate Vallejo as a paint company.I used the inks on the vampire model in my photo. I concentrated on the shading of the face using the inks and the blood stains around the mouth. I'm very happy with the results and I have tried all major brands of inks such as Army Painter and Citadel. The Vallejo inks are easily as good as the other brands. Really impressed. The only thing to watch out for is that if you don't water them down a little, they can dry with a slight sheen. Which has some great advantages and disadvantages depending on what you are painting.

Strong and Instant
I'm very impressed with these inks. They have even helped change a couple of my painting techniques.I paint a lot of models and miniatures so having extra materials at hand to work with is always a pleasure.Very strong colour and easy to apply, wth dropper bottles (which means you can more precisely measure your mixes). They are low viscosity so you need to exercise a little care when applying them, but they can transform a piece instantly. For reference, the image I have provided here shows the Purple ink applied to a previously solid white miniature (in primer). Note the tendency to fill orifices and sit - this effect is particularly good with the inks.Use them like a strong wash, or just apply to very small areas with a thin brush to get the best effect.

Good basic set
Mine were separated a bit but no issue due to vortex mixer. Prepare to shake a lot if you don't have one (or get a stirrer, open the bottle and go to town). For this price that is an adequate paint. Coverage is not going to make you sing psalms, but overall it isn't terrible either. Perfectly usable "soldier" paint. I don't mean one to paint soldiers with (although you can obviously, you can do anything!) but for a basic work on the model.A grunt paint, if you will.

Consistent excellent colouration and density; great for beginners and veterans alike
Having tried another popular but slightly cheaper "large force" paint supplier and being disappointed at having to return two sets for replacement and refund, I moved back to Vallejo and their consistent but slightly more expensive product. Never let me down to date.

magic in a bottle
Bought these as I was after the violet but couldn't get individually at a sensible price, figured worth a punt. These work a bit like washes, but have a much more intense colour, combining the properties of a strong wash with the effects of a clear glaze, the strength of the colour allows some very vibrant effects to be applied very easily (e.g. skin tones) over very light base colours, also ideas like coloured tints to metallic silver. They are acrylics so dry as you would expect (not overly clear from the description, but these are not water soluble inks when dry). Can be thinned with water (50-50 works well for a strong wash, much more dilute for a thin one, though for that use actual thinners not water)
