DONT BUY THIS
This product has many defects, so do many other products like this.1) The bird might eat the fuzz2) The bird might get the fuzz on the neck or wings3) This causes hormonal problems, leading the bird to get aggressive towards you. And it causes the bird to lay eggs without a male which causes egg binding

The base should have been hard but its got a soft bendable mat inside, but it's alright

Birds ate the fur. Not good for birds
While our birds enjoyed hiding and sleeping in it , they also started eating the fur and we noticed bloated belly as well. Have removed this from their cage

Good product but harmful for birds
I got it for my baby iguana, not my bird. They are harmful because it can make your bird territorial and hormonal which will make them aggressive around it. Plus they chew the fabric which can cause a lot of health issues. For other animals its good but just keep them away from birds
