THESE DO NOT WORK... I live on the top floor of a condo building in downtown Chicago and enjoyed seeing little birds on my balcony so I put out a little feeder. About a month into the summer, a pigeon noticed and decided to bring back friends... ever since then I’ve been at war. After losing my mind because they kept crapping everywhere and scaring off the small birds... I tried shooting them with a water super soaker but they still came back. I tried gluing toothpicks to the perch to stab them when they landed but they just broke them off... Finally I bought what I thought would be a “pigeon proof” feeder and super glued these metal pigeon spikes onto it... they literally impaled themselves on it and still ate all the seed. See photos. So ultimately I ripped it all down and gave up. It’s breaking my heart a tad though bc the little birds keep sitting on our balcony looking at us with that “I’m starving” look... I’m just waiting for the Sara McLaughlin song to start playing. Stupid pigeons... rats of the sky. Good luck getting rid of yours but don’t waste your money on these spikes.

I tried to use this to keep pigeons off my bird feeder to help only small birds feed there, so I installed those where pigeons usually land. At first they hesitated to land there and landed nearby or one floor above. But then they started landing directly on it, hovering, trying to step on it. Finally they manage to somehow sit in between the spikes and still eat this food. So while the product itself if high quality, I love that it's VERY easy to install and cut necessary length (it's easy to break where needed), but unfortunately it did not stop pigeons from my area :)

The product is of good quality. It is easy to join pieces and easy to snap off pieces in order to create the correct size. You need your own mounting screws. Be warned, the spikes are packed separately and must be inserted into the base one at a time or two at a time depending on the holes. If you are going to put up 10 feet of this stuff you are going to spend some labor. Wear safety glasses while assembling -- once the the spikes are in, they stay in, but it's easy for them to pop out if they are only half way in, and you don't want to be poked in the eye. If you need something that doesn't require assembly, there are other options that may be more expensive. I give it 5 stars but you need to be aware of this.

Great idea but these Texas birds are relentless. It seemed to have worked for the first day but by day 2 they figured out a way to build a nest. I have given up I have bought the owl, the spiral reflectors, and now the spikes. The first day we had it up weOnly added the first row of spikes but a few days later we tripled up the spikes and they still figured a way to build a nest. I feel the birds are mocking me at this point because I have wasted more money to keep them off my pergola. Birds -3 me - 0.

Works like a charm. Birds seem to love this small area above our outdoor door and poop everywhere. We were looking for something that won’t harm the birds but help them understand not to sit and poop.We had to use 1 and 1/2 of the strip and used a hot glue gun on the stucco.So far so good & no bird poop.
