Wonderful book with positive messages of teamwork and leadership for children and adults. Loved the colorful artwork and fell in love with Gurty and his persistent determination. Great gift for my young family members this Christmas.

I enjoyed reading the story, Gurty with his colorful socks and band of diverse friends.The illustrations, depicting the many different characters performing, complimented the storyline.Gurty’s fun loving personality, went from playful to a more serious direction.His dream and ambition of leading was challenged, when all of his attempts, failed.Although Gurty was confident and possessed a positive attitude, more was needed to complete the task.Throughout the story, Gurty was surrounded by friends, all of whom supported him.There are times when you think that it’s all on you, but friends are there when you need support and you don’t expect it.

I loved the themes in this beautifully illustrated book: persistence and teamwork. Both are important for children.Gurty is a happy-go-lucky goose who wears his lucky socks everywhere. He’s tasked with leading her flock to a warmer place. This is his dream to form a perfect V. He practices, and stumbles and gets up and tries again. Gurty soon learns that teamwork makes dream work. Together with his flock, they form a perfect V that flies to a warm place. Gurty realizes he doesn’t need his lucky socks but still wears them…just in case.

Gurty the Goose is such a wonderful book for all ages!! It’s a fantastic lesson about perseverance and not letting life deter you, not matter the obstacles! I highly recommend sharing this gift of reading and gifting to all friends and family. What a joy to be read by ALL!!
