Very easy to use considering I don't have any baking skills worth the money for a first time baker. Didn't need anything else for my cake but cake boards so Definitely worth it. But the tool to cut the cake in half was very flimsy so maybe use a knife or buy another tool for that. Overall good kit if you are looking for one. Also the pans are a bit weird when coming to the size my cake boards were 10 8 6 4. The cake pans that came with it didn't tell you the size so I had to use those to measure the size turned out it was a 8" n the second was slightly bigger than a 6 but not easily a 8 either so maybe a 7 not sure.
