Nice looking, lightweight awnings
I bought a bunch of these for my home and my parent's home. They look cool. I have put one together but have not installed it yet. It was a little difficult to put together with one person, but I was able to get it together. The reason I have not installed any of them is because they seem like they would be easily damaged by wind or hail. Since I live in the center of storm central, I am waiting until the end of Spring to hopefully give them a fair chance to last awhile. I gave them five stars because, I was pretty aware of what I was buying.

Easy to assemble and install. Ordered another one. It’s been a few days, hopefully this will last and withstands elements

It’s cheap and won’t last
I got deceived by the pictures, my mistake. It’s cheap and lasted less than a month. Totally waste of money. Can’t even return it cause return window already expired.

High wind tested and successful. Been installed for eight months now.
Very impressed with this awning I have a place in a rural area where the winds get up to 70 mph on many occasions it's an extreme environment. I did silicone all the plastic to the mounts everywhere you have a gap or connection. It's not like this thing is built heavy duty, but when it's all put together, it just works keeps the rain off of my new French doors which were causing problems. I recommended if you don't want to spend much money and want protection.

Okay, but needs some modifications to really work well.
We needed to get an awning up over our minisplit heat pump to protect it from roof ice sliding onto it during the winter. I had previously used one of these over our front door, so already had some insight as to the disadvantages of this awning. If you go with this unit, do yourself a favor: get a tube of good silicone sealant and a box of galvanized self-drilling outdoor sealing screws. Assemble this at ground level, and use the silicone caulk in all of the channels, and secure the panels to the mounting rails be drilling through the rails with the screws. It makes it heavier, and will need 2 people to install, but will make for a much better installation. If you don't use the silicone, moisture gets into the vanes of the flexible panels, and the eventually become blackened with mildew or mold on the inside, impossible to clean. We found from our original awning that snow loads could easily buckle the panels, causing them to drop out. The screws reinforce and prevent that from happening.Overall, with those modifications, the awning is functional, but certainly not bullet proof. I wish they supplied an option to replace the cheap plastic panels with corrugated metal, but it's ok for what it is.

Lightweight and easy to install
I cut a door in a shipping container (see pic) and used this awning to keep the rain away. I gave the product a five start review because of the low price, its ease of installation and being lightweight, it's easy to install. I installed the awning myself, with no help whatsoever, although a second pair of hands would've come handy.I basically put the awning together on the ground and used bungie cords to keep it together. After installing and tightening all the screws, I tied two ropes at both ends of the awning to lift it in place. Once in place, I drilled the holes through the wall and used bolts, nuts and washers to secure the awning to the wall.Note that you must attach one awning bracket to the wall at a time to make sure everything aligns properly. You can either first attach one corner bracket and then the center bracket before attaching the last remaining bracket. Or you can first attach the center bracket and then the two corner brackets.Because of the shipping container structural design, there was a 1/2 inch gap at the top, between the awning and the shipping container wall. I used roofing tape to seal the gap. It worked well to prevent leaks and it's almost invisible from the ground.I must say that although the awning itself feels flinzy before installation, it feels very sturdy once it's attached to the wall. Don't know how long it'll last but I'm very satisfy with the purchase.
