Loud Noise Easily Fixed
I have had Wahl clippers for about 20 years and buy a new set every couple years. Usually with a budget model at Walmart, so I finally decided to upgrade to a professional set for cutting mine and my 5 sons’ hair. I plugged it in after reading so many reviews about how loud it was, and was pleased at how quiet it was. I handed it to my wife and it was immediately loud. I used a screwdriver to adjust the speed control on the side and it quieted right down. With 20 seconds of turning the screw on the side, it was quiet. One of my sons has extremely thick hair. For years, the Wahl trimmers would pull, catch, and snag, making him wince in pain. With these Andis Master clippers, it not only cut without bogging down the motor, but I didn’t have to go over it multiple times to get stragglers. I was able to give a great fade with minimal effort. I only regret that I didn’t do this 15 years ago. I would have saved so much money on cheap clippers. I expect these to last a lifetime. They did become quite warm after 35 minutes and 3 haircuts, but not too hot to hold.

Reliable, professional-grade clipper that’s powerful, quiet, and versatile
The Andis 01815 Professional Master has been an excellent investment and well worth the price. I use it to cut my own hair as well as for a few others in the family, and it’s handled everything easily. It runs quietly and stays cool to the touch, even during longer sessions, which makes it much more comfortable to use than cheaper clippers. Power has never been an issue — it cuts smoothly through different hair types without pulling or bogging down. The blade quality is outstanding. It’s very sharp and gives clean, consistent cuts. The adjustable blade is especially useful for cutting, fading, and blending, and it makes transitioning between lengths simple without constantly swapping guards. Build quality is solid, sturdy, and well made, with no rattling or flimsy parts. While it’s definitely not the cheapest option, the performance and durability justify the cost. If you’re looking for a reliable, professional-grade clipper that’s powerful, quiet, and versatile, this is an easy recommendation from Andis.

YOU WILL REGRET IT READ REVIEW
These are absolutely the worst clippers I have ever owned and my experience with them has severely damaged Andis reputation with me. The clippers right out of the gate didn't work correctly. The blade adjustment handle was very loose and it caused me to cut a patch in a clients hair. I had to quickly pivot to a bald fade because of it. I opened them up, fixed the loose adjustment handle and I thought that was the end of it. This was just the beginning. I started cutting my own hair and then they started making this EXTREMELY LOUD NOISE. I looked up how to fix that, and once again the handle came loose again. I should have sent them back immediately, but I'm like let me take them to the Barbershop store in my neighborhood where they repair clippers. I took them in, the man repaired them and they worked fine for about five months and then BAM. THEY COMPLETELY DIED! At this point I was livid. I didn't even bother to return them or try to submit a warranty claim because I just didn't care anymore. I don't normally right bad reviews, but these clippers are hit or miss. I regret I didn't go with my first mind and go with something else. I had read all the negative reviews and I bought them anyway thinking the years of use I got out of my old Andis Master clippers would somehow translate to the new ones. I was very, VERY WRONG. I can't ever recommend ANYTHING by Andis anymore. This experience has completely made me change out ALL OF MY EQUIPMENT that I had from them. I can't afford to pay decent money for items for them to be trash from the beginning. FYI the fix that everyone talks about to remove the loud noise DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. By the time you turn that screw to where the noise stops, the clippers are HORRIBLY OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND BARELY MOVE. These clips are the absolute WORST THINGS YOU CAN INVEST IN. The sad part is when they work, they are excellent. They just have a problem with NOT WORKING. If I could give negative stars I would. I will never buy Andis ANYTHING again. Their quality just isn't what it used to be at all.

These are the standard
Barber of 15 years here. These are a standard in every barber shop. Everybody complaining about the noise does not know how to use them. On the right side of them is a screw that takes a flat head screwdriver to adjust it to align the blades perfectly. There's a YouTube video there's actually a lot of them. There's even AI that can explain to you how to do this. The blades come sharp as they are supposed to they're very comfortable and the adjustable blade is needed for the best performance.

I have been using these for many years , they finally stopped working well. I must admit it is likely due to my not caring for them as they deserve with cleaning and oil. I do not take care of them like a professional would, yet they work several years cutting my head and face weekly. I am not ready for the cordless model as these have been my go to since I got tired of buying consumer trimmers every year

Minimalist Kit
* I'm not a professional barber. I bought this unit for my wife to cut my hair. I originally had bought an Oster Fast-Feed Cordless. But after returning two defective units, I decided to try a different brand, and switched to a corded unit as well [much lower price than a cordless and (hopefully) fewer reliability issues since I don't have to deal with battery problems]. * This is a minimalist kit: hair trimmer with adjustable blade, plastic blade guard, tube of oil, and instruction booklet. That's it. No frills, no extra attachments, no cleaning brush, no storage case. Lots of Andis stickers, though. Packaging is fairly flimsy, and Amazon shipped it in a bag, instead of a box. But luckily I received it undamaged. * Construction is robust, with an all aluminum case. Line cord and line restraint (attaching the cord to the body of the unit) are sturdy. The lever adjusting the blade is smooth acting, but stiffer than that on the Oster: this is good because it makes it less likely to accidentally nudge it out of place during cutting. One minor disappointment: the screws attaching the blade and the front cover to the body are somewhat low grade. * Shape is ergonomic. It fit my hand (medium) well; and more importantly, it fit my wife's hand (small) well, too. She had no problem using it. She was happy with the unit, and I was happy with the results. * A few minuses. The manufacturer's stated weight is 1.25 lb. I checked it on a scale, and that's what I got. So it's a bit on the heavy side. The aluminum case is strong and dissipates heat well, but it also transmits noise and vibration more than a plastic body. This unit is louder than the Oster, but acceptable. After 15 min run time, the unit is warm, but not uncomfortably hot. The vibration level is more uncomfortable, but OK for occasional home cuts. Glad I'm not a professional barber who has to hold it all day long though.
