Great little device.
I had issues with my battery after storing the bike for winter and required a simple charger that would charge the battery, detect any faults and maintain optimal battery performance. The Oxford Oximiser 900 ticked all the boxes in theory but how did it perform in practice? Connecting the device to the bike was very straight forward. Connected the fused positive lead to the positive battery terminal and the negative lead to the negative terminal using the ring connector lead supplied with the charger, 5 minute job. Plug the other end into the charging cable and you're good to go! The display clearly showed the current volts and amps and indicated that the charge was in bulk charge mode to bring the battery up to charge. Thankfully no faults detected. After several hours the battery was fully charged the charger automatically switched to Maintain mode. Following the initial charge the 1200cc V4 engine in my Crosstourer started first time without any issues. In summary the charger did everything that I wanted, is easy to install and use and automatically manages the health of the battery.

Works well just a little cheap build quality.
Works well. The charger is slightly cheap built, the case and screen are of poor qualty plastic and the 12 volt lead is quite short, so the bike needs to be within a few feet of a power socket I also thought it would come with a wall mount bracket, this said I have extended the leads managed to fix it to the wall. I like the information on the screen and the back light is a good idea. It does the job well and is smart in appearance.

Trickle charger good value

Good, but you'll probably need an extension cable...
I've only had this for a few days but plugged it in and it works, its display states maintaining as it should so all in all great product for the money, build quality is what you'd expect but it just sits there so no concern about that. The lead from charger to bike is too short as others have stated so I ordered the 3m ext lead at the same time as my plug is on the other side of garage to bike. Oxford should really address this as its just a way to make money but all in all I'm happy.

Rubbish.
Update 10 October 17 I stress that none of my complaint reflects on the seller who delivered the item to me promptly and so far, I am pleased with their service. I received the return instructions without delay upon notifying them and have today sent it back it for a refund. Will update when payment received. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Update 09 October 17 I have now connected it to my battery and it did not come on at all. Display and all lights remained dead. The reason is not because my battery is below the minimum charge voltage, which it is not, it is because the unit is faulty. Tried then connecting to mains and display came on but showing 0 volts and 0 amps, as if there is no battery connected at all. It just does not register the presence of the connected battery and so is useless. Add this experience to my comments below, especially on the design of the connectors, and even if I was just unlucky to have a dud, which can happen, I must conclude based on my experience that this is a piece of junk, avoid. A pity because I wanted a charger with a digital readout. I'm sticking with CTEK, no more Oxford chargers for me. I'd give it no stars or negative ones if I could. Will be returning it for a refund. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Haven't used it yet but I have three initial critical observations upon opening it. 1 Unlike rival prodcuts from CTEK and Optimate, it does not come with both a crocodile clip attachment and a permanent connection lead, just the latter. Annoyingly, the instruction book states that crocs are included when they are not, whilst the outside of the box confirms that they are not. If you want the crocs this an extra £12.49 on Amazon and in that case the Oxford 900 with the crocs totals about £43, becoming significantly more expensive than the rival CTEK XS 0.8 for example which is available here for about £37. However I didn't buy the Oxford on price, I bought it because of its digital readout which I prefer. 2 The male connecting pins on the battery flylead don't line up well with the female sockets on the lead to the unit. You have to be very careful when joining them because if you are careless and just jam them together, you could easily damage the pins or sockets. Because of this, I suspect that repeated connection and disconnection, which is actually the intended use with a battery flylead in place, may eventually result in permanent damage to the connectors. This is not a problem on CTEK which has much better connectors, having owned one for seven years. It's also not a problem on Optimate which has US style SAE conectors that are reliable. For what it's worth, Optimate long ago also had similar poor connectors but switched to SAE when it became clear that the former repeatedly failed. Similarly CTEK had them at one time but switched to their own more reliable proprietary type. So it's entirely obvious that those old types of connector are unacceptably poor quality but Oxford haven't bothered to do the same as their rivals, despite quite wide reports of their failure which led to rivals modifying them. 3 As others have pointed out in reviews elsewhere of the 900, the total length of the charger from the mains plug to the end of the battery lead is not as long as the above rival brands. I knew about this but it's not a problem for me though clearly is for some users so that either a mains extension or a battery lead extension or even both in some cases will be required. Many users probably already have a mains extension but the battery lead extension from Oxford will cost extra. I'll be connecting mine via a DIN socket on the bike and am awaiting delivery of the Oxford plug/connector. After using the 900 that way, I'll update here to show how it works but due to my comments above, especially 2, I'm not that enthused about it so far. The reason I chose it over the CTEK 0.8 or Optimate is that it shows the voltage and amperage. As a bit of tech geek I preferred this over the various lights on the competition which show charging progress but not actual numbers. I'm prepared to pay for its proper display but the unit is Iet down by questionable connectors.
