Eureka-die Geheime Stadt-die Komplette... [Blu-ray]

It is different, fun, and THIS one has SUBTITLES
I bought this for £43 in August 2022, waited barely a week for delivery from amazon Germany - well worth it.Originally I bought the DVD Book style set in April 2015 for 19.88 when my hearing was better but I still struggled with largely no subtitles on that series.FINALLY I know everything everyone was saying - makes marginally more sense and I get most of the gags now. This one comes in 5 amaray cases, one disc per tray, 18 total, in a simple slip case.ALL the extras - and the difference on BluRay shows; i'd forgotten Eddie Olmos' cameo in the 2nd Christmas special. Yes SUBTITLED gag reels! The 2nd Xmas Special, although it bookended the final episode of season 4, it leads season 5 on DVD / BluRay - NOT to be missed it is an absolute hoot; sadly the 2 Specials in season 4 were better than that season, the first was so so.Do I advocate spending £100 as it is today? No. £50ish maybe. All printed in German; disc menus - default to English with Francais & Deutsche options - language & subtitles.I don't think it was shot in HD, if not the upscale is really good, but not the extras sadly; BUT most of the extras ARE subtitled. For the uninitiated.(A Town Called) Eureka is a show set in Washington (pilot) Oregon (rest of show) States, filmed in the Vancouver District of British Columbia - you can tell most of the cast & crew are Canucks - they tear chunks out of the Yanks in fairly good humour - it seems an eternal pastime in the Canadian film & tv industry. It has its ALMOST serious moments, the occasional death - usually spectacularly bizarre, but is in a class of its own not fitting ANY genre I can think of; everything from haha to bloody bizarre humour, in short very Canadian despite being a US show. Its sibling show is Warehouse 13 - filmed around Toronto Ontario. Same universe, different beast, worth a try; I bought that BluRay box set WITH this one from amazon Germany - again FULL subtitles.Gist: an average US Marshal stumbles across the weirdest town ever, ending up being appointed its Sheriff. It is a company town owned by the US military in which scientists run amok in the name of innovation.Sounds boring, but it isn't.Every week a new disaster and good old Jack Carter has to stop the world ending - formulaic but unbelievably fun - for the 1st 3 seasons that is.Season 4 introduced several new twists, mostly excessive, the final season was a let down to say the least, but did end quite nicely if cheesily; proving it was a US owned show.

A must-buy for all Eureka fans.
This boxset is brilliant. Thoroughly enjoying being immersed in the mythology of Eureka, and the quality (sound and video) is superb. Please note that, despite the German packaging, the discs will all play in English, French or German and full subtitles are available. Plus there is a plethora of extras! Marvellous!
