Bought the alloy gators for my new mercedes E400 cabriolet, they were professionally fitted & the front passenger gator came off on the motorway after the first week & dented the door & scratched the paint work, had them all taken off now, do not by them, stay well clear

found out by phoning Alloygator Scotland that they don t bother fitting the metal grips which would have saved me a bit of time and effort. The instructions for fitting the metal clips I found confusing anyway. After fitting there was a bigger ap than recommended between tyre and gator. Fortunately there s a distributor and fitter in Inverness which I found out from phoning Alloygator Scotland who was helpful in suggesting to let pressures down then knocking gators in. I did this with car jacked up so I could spin wheel bit by bit knocking gators in all the way round with dead hammer, took bit of effort and few tries, need to be careful to hit gators reasonably hard but not too much as they will split. But got there and gators look great matching paintwork and are protecting rims from any possible kerb damage. Well worth the cost and effort. now I ve done it once another time would be a lot easier or get local fitter to do.

They are a joke. Constantly come away from tyre! Be very careful here. They can come off and whip against your body work!!!
