Diamine 80ml Red Dragon Fountain Pen Ink Bottle

Firstly the colour is just amazing, my first experience with this particular brand and I must say it’s a great improvement over what I used prior to this. The red is a blood red and is a strong solid strong colour allowing defined line. The consistency is perfect and flows well. It’s a large bottle and easy to use when refilling. The larger quantity makes it very good value for money. I for one have finally found an ink manufacturer that I’ll be sticking with now.

I always use fountain pen to write at work. And I like red ink a lot. Colour of Diamine Red Dragon is simply amazing. I used Sheaffer, Pelikan, Lamy and many others - none of them was so intense and quick drying. Bottle is closed well by metal cap, arrived on time and securely wrapped. I'm delighted and going to order another one.

Good ink, darker than expected

Love the colour and flow of this ink in my Parker Urban fine nib. Before this one I tried J.herbin 'rouge opere' which I love the colour of as much as this one but the flow didn't work for me. I then just tried Parker quink red but the colour was far from inspiring. Going to try imperial purple next to test against my Pelikan ink. While I still love this red, after a few weeks of use I't found it to clog up my pen a bit. No major issues so far but I need to keep tissues handy when using this ink. If it gets much worse I'd probably rank it 4/5.

Beautiful ink, that dries the colour of blood! Lovely consistency too. At 80 ml for under £12, this was also very good value for money. I intend to try Diamines other colours!

The best red ink I have seen so far. The colour is very true "medieval", like those used in illuminated manuscripts.I adore this "true" red hue,because ,say. J.Herbin Rouge Opera is too "pinkish", while Diamine Oxblood is already brown. I would like to admit here my apprecation of the service of Pilotfish Pens from whom I bought this ink. Nice Diamine cardboard boxes into which the ink bottles were packed arrived damaged, and the shop has additionaly sent me brand new boxes to match the ink bottles, as it was meant to be a present.

Excellent ink. I use for my everyday writing. It's bold but not so bold that it's not useable for everyday. The bottle is glass and well made, and the cap is a gold plastic cap which does not leak if put on properly.
