Excellent value AC/DC TIG welder!
This is an awesome little AC/DC TIG welder! As a beginner TIG welder myself, I've been really impressed by how easy the welder is to setup and use. ARCCAPTAIN includes basicallly everything you need to get welding right out of the box. The only things you'll need to add are your argon gas bottle, PPE equipment, filler rods, and some additional tungsten electrodes. The included torch consumables for the WP-26 torch are fine for getting started but I'd definitely recommend getting a stubby collet/gas lens kit to make the overall torch more compact and give yourself a few larger cup sizes for increased shielding gas coverage. ARCCAPTAIN even offers such a kit. I really like the on-demand cooling fan of this welder. It's much nicer than listening to the fan endless spin away even when the welder isn't being used. The TIG200P ACDC offers a lot of user controls without being too overwhelming for a beginner like myself. It probably doesn't have as many advanced arc control features as a much more expensive unit, but that is probably actually better for someone just starting out. You still get full control of all standard TIG parameters (pre/post flow time, starting/ending current, ramp up/down time), plus pulse functionality, and the option of doing AC welding with square or triangular wave (AC balance and frequency adjustable). These settings alone will be enough to keep me busy for a long time as I learn the art of TIG welding. ARCCAPTAIN offers a separate foot pedal controller for the unit and I suggest picking it up if you want to have pedal control of the amperage. The pedal/torch trigger interface connector on the welder is a XS12 series aviation connetor which I have not seen used before on any other welding brand so finding an alternative pedal that would be compatible with the ARCCAPTAIN would be difficult unless you're up for modifying the connetor on the cable yourself. The ARCCAPTAIN pedal is a bit large and bulky but it gets the job done fine. Because I'm just learning how to TIG weld and can't provide a fair assesssment of the units performance yet, I took it into my work where we manufacture fluid control equipment for semiconductor fab tools. One of our professional welders tested the TIG200P for some stainless steel DC welding and was really impressed by the performance of this welder. For the price point, he agreed this is definitely the best budget friendly welder he's ever used and would be great for a beginner like myself or a hobbyist that can't justify spending 2-4X as much money for a unit from the big Blue or big Red brands. I'm really looking forward to continuing to hone my TIG welding skills with this unit and start using it for my automotive restoration and other hobby projects.

Unit of a welder, highly recommend for any beginnners who want to start TIG
This machine has been an absolute unit in my garage. I personally am a big fan of welding aluminum and stainless. But this thing handles stainless like a champ alongside mild steel. I've gotten it all the way up to 150 amps before noticing machine hits a cap on run time. I hardly ever weld anything that needs anything more than that but the time I did it handled it okay. For the size and workability of settings- I'm very impressed. I had a Lincoln MP150, just a little multi welder for quite a few years. The finger button on the torch is very nice. I appreciate how easy it is to hit (sometimes too easy because I hit it on accident). I do wish the torch was bendable/swivel that would be a nice touch. If you want to do any aluminum welding unfortunately you will have to bite the bullet and fork over an extra $200 last I checked. But for doing stainless/mild steel this little machine is truly a workhorse. The value is awesome for what you can get elsewhere. Power delivery is steady and the only time I ran into a duty cycle issue was again at the 150A+ mark.

Easy to set up
This ARCCAPTAIN 5-in-1 TIG welder is an excellent machine for both beginners and experienced welders. The dual-voltage feature makes it easy to use at home or in a shop, and the digital display is clear and simple to adjust. Arc starts are smooth, especially in TIG mode, and the pulse function really helps with cleaner welds. The build quality feels solid and reliable for the price. Overall, it delivers strong performance and versatility without being overly complicated.

GOOD, BAD, fixable just costs more money.
Welder has good points and bad points. Good, IGBT, AC freq control, great welds when their WP26 torch is perfect. BAD, WP26 collets supplied are two piece. Put some heat in the torch and they fall apart. BAD, GCA32 gas connection leaked, contaminates the Argon. BAD, Brass nipple to attach the hose is so short, the dog ear clamp shown is wider. BAD, welding Alum at just 125A, the torch handle is poorly insulated and the handle gets too hot to handle. Had to wrap with a arm guard sleeve for continuous welding, bulky, poor welding comfort. Otherwise you weld, stop, cool, weld, stop, cool. Pain. All this is fixable with someone else's better quality components.

Compact and Light Welder
Compact and light, easy setup, great customer service from a company that really wants to provide a nice product. Update: This is a very capable little tig welder, been using it on a couple job sites for repair and small fab. The price is definitily a selling point and cant beat the HF starts with slope etc. I upgraded to a better work clamp/cable and CK Worldwide 17 torch, using stubby gas lens. Nothing I have seen on the market can compete with this little unit right now. You can carry it with a small bottle of argon plug it up to 120V and fix almost anything, for those bigger jobs it does even better on 240V. ***Hooked up a pedal to the machine to see how it would do. Its an XS12 5 pin male connector, they all have to come from China, so it will take a few weeks. Easy enough to change out connector. Pins 3&4 are to start the arc, 1,2,5 are for the 2w/10k pot. Has full range from 10-200 amps. You will set max amps in panel mode then switch to remote for pedal (using pedal it will go to amps set in panel), its smooth and holds well on desired power. Pedal was a game changer for ease of use bench welding. Used it on a bigger job site powered by a Miller Bobcat 250 as generator, ran it for 3 days welding pipe, it never missed a beat on 240V. Welds turned out nice and no problems with generator power. We can use the Bobcat to tig weld but dont have a HF box hooked up so this is an easier/cheaper option to have HF, also gives the abilty to move around with just longer extension cords and the unit is right there to change amps if needed. You can pulse on the downslope by just clicking trigger off and on. It was run way past its listed duty cycle many times with no issues.

The setup was incredibly easy, and I was welding in no time. The performance is outstanding—smooth arcs and excellent control make it perfect for both aluminum and steel projects. The pulse feature is a game-changer, allowing for precise welds and better heat management, especially on thinner materials. The build quality is impressive; it feels durable and reliable, which is essential for any serious welder. Plus, the included accessories are a nice bonus, making it a complete package right out of the box. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, this welder offers incredible value and versatility. Highly recommend the ARCCAPTAIN TIG Welder for anyone looking to elevate their welding game!

Received the first welder it was defective and was returned with no problem. However it took months (Oct. to Jan.2024) to receive the refund for the assurance for this machine . Ordered a second welder, this turned out to be a total disappointment. Received it, opened the box, found a broken piece on top loose, removed the foam cover and the secondary box, only to see the welder completely broken. The front of the welder was not even attached. You could see the transformer, it was terrible. This was just looking at it still in the inner box. Immediately put the secondary box back in without opening it. Put the foam cover back in and immediately did a return. Something went on here, as this was double boxed and the outer box was in really bad shape when it was received. Shameful, as this could be a really good machine. Third one being ordered, hopefully it is in one piece and no defective parts, that would be great.

I gave it 4 out of 5 but its actually 4.5 out of 5. A great performing, simple to use TIG welder. Small, portable and consistent. I put my Everlast on ice for a while as I am enjoying using the Arccaptain. Price is outstanding. Great for beginners or more advanced users. I've even used it on stainless steel. My talent is thin sheet metal (much to my surprise) and this welder is perfect for that. I even bought the foot pedal to go with it. Alas, there is a flaw. The tig torch. Far, far too heavy and awkward. Arccaptain, offer a lighter torch in the future or if we can get the Euro Tig Torch with the button (not switch) in the future then this rating would be 5 out of 5.
