SMALLRIG a6500 Cage for Sony Alpha a6500 / ILCE 6500 4K Mirrorless Digital Camera - 1889

Smallrig cage for my A6500 is really good. The delivery was fantastic also, coming very quickly. The cage surrounds my camera but still allowing me access to all buttons, knobs and compartments. It's is sturdy and makes the camera feel more.....more. I took off a grip for this cage and wasn't really sure if to do so. But I'm delighted. With the top handle my videos will be much much better as I've tried it out testing already. Plenty of attachment spots with different types of connecting. I will be building up my rig little by little as I was microphone, monitor, battery and a few other attachments in good time when money becomes available to me. I'm glad I took the plunge and went for the cage and top handle. Just ordered side handles and baseplate which I'll show when reviewing them. Thank you Smallrig 😍😎

I bought this cage as part of my foray into the world of macro photography and I'm pleased that by and large I've been able to attach any of the macro accessories that I have acquired without too much trouble. The size of the cage is obviously limited by the size of the camera body and I've had to add things like a cold shoe extension to the top right side of the cage because the integral cold shoe connection could not be accessed when a flash trigger is installed in the camera hot shoe.My only gripe is the Arca-Swiss compatible base. I could not fit the base plate into the Arca-Swiss clamp on my macro focussing rail, the base is fractionally too wide. I tested this with my other plates and they all fitted perfectly. It was easy to install a better fitting plate onto the cage so that problem was easily solved.Aside from these small problems I can recommend this cage as a very useful accessory.

Having spent over a grand on a camera, I feel very comfortable know that this case will protect it from scratches and scraps and slight bumps. With an abundance of holes for adapters, I really feel equipped and assured that I can build any rig I need depending on my situation! Really useful addition to the a6500. With the addition of the wooden grip handle, it adds a bit of weight and heft, which really helps stabilise my video. I also added a top handle and they’re all excellent quality and very affordable.

I bought this for my sony a6300 and it fits perfectly! There are two mounting points with the camera so it is very sturdy. No wobbling! Great piece of kit.

Fanatstic cage for my A6500. I bought one of these before for my other A6500 ages ago and didn't realise they have upgraded the deisgn which is fantastic. Ps you don't need to order a hot shoe attachment now ;)

This is a solid cage and protect the 6500 very well. It really handy having the additional holes, so you can attach supporting equipment

I have the Sony A6300 and was about to purchase the A6300 SmallRig cage but I found out that this cage has better features and the camera fits perfectly. The cage is very high quality and extremely good value for money.
