Spyderco Stretch 2 Signature Lightweight Hunting Knife with 3.43" ZDP-189 Stainless Steel Blade and British Racing Green FRN Handle - Plainedge - C90PGRE2

Ok this is my intro to spyderco and I know they are a top tier knife builder. I havent used it much but bought it as this steel zdp-189 is awesome and will be discontinued. I mostly carry fixed blades and now I carry flippers. this steel will hold a edge forever. compared to my steel will modus which i love and will compare to later feels about the same. quality is very good. It does not take long to use the thumb hole very nice. The blade came very sharp and all i did to it right now was to strop it with black/white and then green compound and wow super sharp, you can feel it cutting into your finger tips. Will profile to a 17 degree per side edge later. I still want the endura with its longer blade but this blade is very nice. Oh compared to the modus overall length open and closed goes to stretch bigger but the blade area goes to the modus with slightly by a 1/8 longer cutting edge. Will update later

Wow. I have many syperco knives including maxamet native and manix. The Stretch is, well, a beautiful incredibly made piece while the others are, well, ok. Sorry Golden. Japan kicked yer butt on this one. The steel liners make a HUGE difference in the feeling of soildity and trust. Im still leery of the lateral breaking force of the unlined frn. The Manix Maxamet blade/handle flex a lot compared. But still feel stable... but the Stretch? Wow. Solid. And not much heavier. The curved blade is SO much more user friendly. The FRN handle is much more filed in w curves not removed at egdes. The ZDP189 YES is MUCH easier to keep really sharp as compared w Maxamet which is, sorry, a pain. More strokes on stone equals more room for error and a less likely "5 minute" resharpen. ZDP seems almost MORE aggressive than Maxamet! Yes Maxamet holds edge longer. A bit. I held out on this purchase for over a year. I encourage all those on the edge: DONT MISS THIS ONE.

I bought this because I collect Spyderco knives and it was supposed to be the knife Sal Glesser is most proud of. If you like the geometry of the PM2 but can't justify the price, this knife might be for you. I personally didn't like mine that much when it came out of the box but I don't have any tasks that require this particular blade shape. It's good if you need to skate your knife blade against something under it to cut something above it.I didn't like the knife so much that I decided I was going to attempt to baton wood and get a fire going with it, and I didn't hold back on the whacks on the spine of the blade and I wasn't very careful with my aim. It survived with just a bit of blade play which was fixed by tightening the pivot screw. I will be carrying this when I need something to use outdoors that has many different ways to grip it, if I think I might lose or damage my S110V PM2.I don't know what this knife is meant for. I like even my tenacious more. Favorites are tenacious and delica for the money.

Ive wanted this knife ever since i laid my eyes on it. I really wanted it in g10, but i have to say the frn handles just work with this knife. I kind of thoight it was going to be like the endure 4, super light and thin, but i was shocked to see how much more beefy it was. Its a whole other monster. Nice weight to it and just feels like it will hold up much better than my endura. Its a good size knife too. Not small at all. Came super sharp too. I was going to go with the zdp189 steel, but figured the vg10 would be more than enough. Maybe someday i will get it in zdp, since i have plans of adding that steel to my collection. And i wont mind having a copy of this knife in better steel. I cant justify the extra 90$ for the g10 version though. I will just wait until they have custom scales on the market. Overall an amazing knife. Well worth the 80$

I like this tool so much, I bought a second one. It fits my hand very well, has a sturdy blade and feel and the steel is amazing. They are not cheap, but they will not be getting cheaper as time goes by. Hope this helped. Enjoy.

Spyderco 2160195 C90PGRE2 Stretch2 Fold BLD British Racing Knife, Green, 3.45" Absolutely the sharpest knife, right out of the box, I have ever bought. You could probably shave with this thing. Slices through paper like a razor. Opens very easy and fits my hand very well. Lots of grip in the handle checkering. Very well made fit and finish. A little bigger than I thought, but was so impressed with it I bought the smaller Spyderco Manbug British Racing Green FRN Zdp-189 PlainEdge as well. By far the best value in an EDC knife. Big enough to be useful but not too big.

Non è il mio primo Spyderco, ne ho altri, questo è una via di mezzo tra Delica ed Endura come dimensioni, diciamo un buon compromesso, è anche meno appuntito e si presta a svariati lavori, è più versatile.Articolo perfetto come il servizio Amazon.

スパイダルコ /ストレッチ2は前期モデルのストレッチから。ブレードやハンドル形状の細かな部分が変更されより使い易くなっています。ストレッチシリーズは他のモデルより比較的地味ですが。このシリーズに拘っている方も少なくありません。ストレッチ2は細かな形状変更の拘りとブレード右側の刻印がhunterからメーカー側(グレッサー氏)も大切にしているナイフと思います。VG10ブレードの切れ味も鋭くハンドルの握り具合もとても良いです。お金に余裕のある方はZDP-189硬質ブレードにG10ハンドル仕様を購入するのがいいと思います。又ブレードはロックバック式でシッカリ固定されますが、欲を言えばボールベアリングロックやコンプレッションロックも選択出来ると更に良いですね。ストレッチ2はカーボンやチタンの高級素材は使っていませんが価格もリーズナブルでお勧めのナイフに仕上がってます。

スパイダルコ7本目の購入になります。他の物に比べて刃を畳むときにロック解除がパキンと音がするほど固く親指が痛くなってしまいました。刃物で有名な日本の関市で作っているのにこのクオリティーは不味いんじゃないでしょうか。ちゃんと検品しているんでしょうか。中国製の安物ならまだ分かるんですけど。これでメイドインジャパンなんて言ってたら物作りで評価が高い日本の評判が下がると思います。ざんねんです。
