I recently purchased the eXtremeRate DIY Replacement Shell Buttons for Nintendo Switch, specifically in the Clear Atomic Purple color, and I must say that I am incredibly pleased with the product.The replacement shell and buttons are of excellent quality, and they fit perfectly on my Nintendo Switch console and Joycon handheld controller. The clear atomic purple color gives my Switch a unique and eye-catching look, which I absolutely love.The installation process was straightforward, thanks to the easy-to-follow instructions provided by eXtremeRate. I was able to replace the shell and buttons without any issues, and it didn't take much time at all.The buttons themselves feel great to use, providing a satisfying click and responsive feedback. They have a nice texture, which enhances the overall gaming experience.One thing to note is that this product does not include any electronic parts, so it's important to keep that in mind before purchasing. Takes a bit of know how to install, but if you follow the video closely it's worth it. Everytime I bring my switch out I always get oooo's and ahh's and plenty of compliments about it. Color is amazing and the buttons feel great as well. Had no functionality issues after the install. Grip is a little smooth but I'm not going off roading with this thing. Only gripe is the kickstand is kinda tough to use but I rarely use it anyways. If you want your switch to stand out from the crowd, this is it!

It was super easy to take apart and put together. The instructions on their website are helpful, though I was able to do pretty much all of it on my own. The finish on the plastic is nice and definitely has better grip than my worn out original shell. There is a little bit of a lip between the bottom of the back shell and the switch itself, but a light sanding/filing on the edge makes it flush with little effort and it doesn't impact anything in any significant way to not make it flush. The plastic itself feels durable enough to handle typical wear and tear as well. My only major gripe is that the screw tips provided don't always hold up against the screws (particularly the Phillips head), but I think that has more to do with how my joycons were manufactured as a few of the screws were especially tough to remove and the method used for these plastic molds isn't exactly conducive to repetitive screwing and unscrewing. I also wish the color order on the buttons matched, though that's more of a personal preference and I could probably Jerry rig it to change the order if I really wanted to.Don't mind my joysticks, they're next on my list of to-do's. In hindsight I probably should've just replaced them along with the shell swap, but they don't have any drift issues and I just need to replace the rubber grips.Definitely considering getting more colors in the future as long as this one holds up!

Great product my only disappointment was that my stand was broken and this new kit doesn't come with the metal piece that makes it stay in place, not to mention it also doesn't come with a new game slot cover which is why I took one star off. The quality of the shell is excellent and the fit is perfect it is very functional and the color matches nicely. Very easy to assembly the only problem I had was with the joycons because that Z cable was annoying.

Cherry Blossom will always be a tip of the hat of respect to Japan and Japanese culture. But outside of Japan, it’s just too soft of a color for my preference and that of many others in the west.Even so, I found a way to harmonize this color (Candy Pink) with the softer Cherry Blossom. I put the Candy Pink shells on the joycons for the shell, accented with Cherry Blossom buttons. I’m pretty pleased with the result, but I hope both clear shades of pink continue to be made available by ExtremeRate.I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. ExtremeRate has hands down the best quality for these aftermarket shells. All the little details and road bumps in installation you may experience with competing products are just not a problem when it comes to ExtremeRate products. This isn’t me kissing their bum— no, I’m not about that. This is me looking out for the average enthusiast who wants a no-BS one to one OEM replacement.As for the Candy Pink backplate, I have it installed on a switch console with a Cherry Blossom faceplate. So the accented variation of color is not limited to just my joycons.Please, ExtremeRate, I beg of you— keep both clear Cherry Blossom and clear Candy Pink available as much as possible: I know the Switch 2 just got announced, but these are fantastic aftermarket colors. Candy Pink is my favorite, but I hope both of these stay.Best part about translucent colors? There’s no way the “paint” can chip off. There is no paint! Stands up better to the test of time than the others.
