I was looking at goosenecks typically used for desk lamps. They tend to be weak. This is very sturdy, holds some weight. The threading (5/8 x 27) wasn't advantageous to my project. Exactly what I needed

I bough this piece to use as an extension between an Onstage TCM1500 (tablet holder) & an OnStage SKA7575 (mic attachment for X-stand keyboard). The tablet holder didn't sit high enough.The piece is sturdy and stiff and has 5/8"-27 threads on both ends (perfect as extension).
