Hello Jennifer,Like you I tried to obtain a transformer for the unit but couldn't find one with the correct rating.My only suggestion would be to contact Bradford Exchange who supply these units. I know dome of the bigger displays come with a transformer.Cheers

It is battery only, I've had mine several years now, and still use the same batteries, I might be mean though and not play it very often.
