Use glue
It fit perfect and I also glued it to make certain that it would not fly off again.

Poorest quality!
I live in Florida and this literally melted the brackets away and then flew off on the highway. I had seen the black gunk for like a month and had no idea where it was coming from until now. When I placed it originally it was snug and secure. After a week I started seeing black drippings but didn’t want to pull it off to confirm. I’ve had to replace these molding 3 times in 2 years but this was by far the worst one. I WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN. For reference I bought this in March and it’s June….

Not easy to install but worth the effort
Neither these, nor the OEM part, will be especially easy to install. The net effect is well worth the effort. This part was available far cheaper than OEM Motor craft which was far too expensive to justify for a cosmetic update on a 10+ year old Explorer. These look and fit great and make the vehicle look new again.

Ford Explorer Windshield Molding Trim
I bought this replacement windshield trim for my 2012 Ford Explorer. There is a known issue of these windshield panel pieces flying off when you're driving and that exact thing happened to me. The trim fitting that holds in the windshield itself tends to dry rot and then it leaves spacing between the glass and the trim and it allows air in there and eventually the trim pieces have nothing to hold on to. This trim piece fit easily and definitely looks better now that it's been installed. I would recommend this for Ford Explorer trim replacement panels.

Perfect fit
My explorer had the same problem as most and I had to replace this trim. I took the old one off gingerly just in case so I could possibly reuse it if I had to bit my fears were unjustified. Everything fit as it should and it matches the old trim piece perfect.

Garbage, will snap off
Had this professionally installed at Ford and it still snapped off on the freeway. Teeth broke off and everything from the base. Waste of money. Now I have to but OEM at 4x the cost. Don’t waste time and energy. Go with the OEM product. You will end up having to buy anyway.
