Bought as a workaround, but impressed.
I bought this as a trial solution to tie-in my MVHR system into the rest of Drayton's Wiser heating system, if it didn't work, I'm sure I could have found a use for it controlling a lamp or something. It's a bit annoying that with Heat Recovery systems becoming more popular, there doesn't seem to be a lot of options for linking them in to work with everything else. Dedicated 3rd party controllers are unneccesarily expensive and few (if any) offer Smart support, often they're just a timer and 'boost' control, so not much better than a cheap boiler thermostat...disappointing. You're effectively left with the options of either buying a controller and programming it to roughly work around Wiser's heating schedules, or leaving the MVHR on continuously on a low setting and living with it indirectly kicking the heating on and off a bit more often than you'd like. I hope that Drayton comes out with something for this problem in the future. They already have underfloor heating controllers so it would be a nice addition to help stop the MVHR fighting against the heating system. Anyway, I decided to try this out, to simply switch the power on/off to the MVHR unit according to the heating schedules I'd already set so that it doesn't run continuously (and annoyingly) throughout the night. Setup was effortless and problem-free, I was that impressed that I'm thinking of leaving it as it is now as it pretty much does exactly what I needed it to do...even if it is a little ad-hoc. The included power-monitoring function is also quite handy, in this case, I can see when my air filters may need cleaning when it starts drawing a few more watts than normal. Brilliant!

Good thermostats
It works perfectly within the wiser ecosystem which I do recommend and was very simple to install. Connects to the WiFi easily and is compatible with the Wiser thermostats. The things I do not like was the price and the touch screen is not responsive at all. Every time I try to use the screen and turn it on(as after a time it switches the screen off to save battery) I press the buttons as well which control the temperature making a mess with the temperature or accidentally boost the whole system. But given that you can control the system from your phone and program it it’s not the biggest issue. Also for this price you would expect a battery and to be rechargeable but is not. Overall I am happy with my purchase but there is plenty of room for improvement when a second generation is planned.

Wiser system seems very good
So far so good. Wiser system as a whole works well. Rad valves connected to the system easily. Recommend.

Using to monitor energy used by appliance.
Bought this as an addition to my wiser heating system. We had a quooker tap fitted, ideal to see how much it actually uses power wise. So far they seem very economical to run. The whole wiser system of stats and rad valves is very good. Had them installed a number of years and once you’ve set your schedules and tweaked them as you go along, it basically sits there and you have to do nothing, waters warm, house is warm. I’ve expanded and bought extra rad valves when been on offer. The least used room where your not too bothered for full control, just set the existing rad stat to a temp and hot water will flow when other auto valves call for heat.

simple and cost effective system
We have had this now for 4 months. While we had a few teething problems its working pretty well. I have been pretty surprised at how good the RF wireless range is (we only needed one range extender in a large older house with several internal stone walls - for comparison we need 3 access points to cover the same area for WiFi) . We did have a few signal drop outs in the early days but this has improved over time as firmware updates have come through and we re-positioned the extender. NB we did install the hub in the middle of the house rather than next to the boiler with a length of 5 core cable - absolutely worth a little effort in the installation process for larger/older houses with thicker walls. We also had a few issues with the radiator valves as some of our radiators existing TRVs were installed at the top entry point on the radiator (rather than at the bottom) which lead to inaccurate heating. A fun afternoon swapping the valves to the bottom sorted it out completely. My only complaint is that you cant see signal strenth on the app or devices. You need to ring tech support which takes a lot of unnecessary time.

Drayton Wiser Smart Plug & Range Extender: A Mixed Bag
I was excited to add the Drayton Wiser Smart Plug and Range Extender to my Wiser heating system, hoping to seamlessly integrate more devices into my smart home setup. While the initial impression was positive, the performance and cost left me feeling a bit disappointed. The Good: Seamless Integration: The smart plug integrates flawlessly with the Wiser Heating ecosystem. Controlling it through the app is intuitive and straightforward. Build Quality: The plug feels sturdy and well-made, giving the impression of a durable product. The Not-So-Good: Poor Range: This is where the product falls short. The signal range is surprisingly limited, making it difficult to connect devices in different rooms or on different floors. This essentially forces you to purchase multiple range extenders, adding to the overall cost. Expensive: Speaking of cost, both the smart plug and the range extender are quite pricey compared to competitors. This wouldn't be a major issue if the performance was top-notch, but unfortunately, it's not. Overall: The Drayton Wiser Smart Plug and Range Extender have the potential to be a great addition to a Wiser heating system. However, the poor range and high cost significantly detract from the overall experience. If Drayton can improve the signal strength and offer a more competitive price point, this product would be a much easier recommendation. For now, it's a mixed bag.
