Advanced Colors acrylic paint set

I rated this Vallejo Game Color Advanced set five stars because it is an excellent foundation for anyone painting Warhammer miniatures or other tabletop sets. The selection of 16 colors provides a great balance between essential matte tones and high-quality metallics, allowing you to go from base coating to fine highlighting right out of the box. The 18 ml dropper bottles are a massive improvement over traditional paint pots; they prevent the paint from drying out prematurely and allow for precise, drop-by-drop dispensing onto a palette, which is crucial for thinning your paints or mixing custom shades. The pigments are consistently smooth, offering great coverage without obscuring the fine details on plastic or resin models, and the metallic shades in this particular set have a very fine flake that looks realistic even on tiny 28mm scales. The only reason I’m giving this four stars instead of five is that, like many acrylics designed for gaming, a few of the lighter colors—specifically the yellows and certain reds—require several thin coats to achieve full opacity over darker primers. I also noticed that the matte finish can be slightly inconsistent across different batches, sometimes drying with a very faint satin sheen that might require a dedicated matte varnish to unify. That said, the value for money is undeniable, especially considering how long these bottles last compared to other hobby brands. It’s a reliable, professional-grade kit that has made my painting sessions much more efficient and enjoyable, and I’d highly recommend it to any hobbyist looking to upgrade their current paint range.

As always excellent paints by Vallejo. Particularly like the Dead Flesh and Plague Brown in this set for painting all my zombies and broodwalkers. Some purples of which you do not get with the Game Color Introduction set. Tiny Tin is an excellent all rounder metal, I have used to great effect as a base color for both steels and coppers. A selection of other colors that supplement the Game Color Introduction, overall very pleased with this set.

A good starting point for miniature painting. Not sure the metallic paints are much use to me but I'm glad I went with this initially. I would recommend using this as a base and then individually buying the paints you want as you build your set. The pigments seem bright enough and by layering you can get some good colouring on models. Adding water and mixing colours allows you to build contrast. Dries quickly allowing you to build layers without too long a wait.

Very good quality paint. Not too thick and goes on great. Only thing is this pack doesn't come with any silver metallic colour. Got caught short on this. Just something to think about when purchasing.

Bought these last year for grandad to paint his hundreds of little figures. He seemed to like it so purchased it again!

Not all the colours have been used to date the ones that have been give good paint coverage. There are a good selection of colours in the set. They are easy to open and re seal comes in dropper bottles.

Having tried another popular but slightly cheaper "large force" paint supplier and being disappointed at having to return two sets for replacement and refund, I moved back to Vallejo and their consistent but slightly more expensive product. Never let me down to date.

Ich nutze das Vallejo Game Color Acrylfarben-Set hauptsächlich zum Bemalen von 3D-gedruckten Figuren und bin wirklich sehr zufrieden. Die Farben haften nach einer Grundierung hervorragend und lassen sich sehr sauber und gleichmäßig auftragen. Gerade bei feinen Details zeigen die Farben ihre Stärke. Die Pigmentierung ist top, die Farben wirken kräftig und lebendig und lassen sich auch gut mischen. Mit mehreren dünnen Schichten bekommt man ein richtig professionelles Ergebnis. Besonders praktisch sind die Tropfflaschen, da man die Farbe sauber dosieren kann und nichts verschwendet wird. Auch für Anfänger super geeignet, weil sich die Farben leicht verarbeiten lassen und schnell trocknen. Für alle, die 3D-Druck-Figuren, Tabletop-Miniaturen oder Modelle bemalen möchten, definitiv eine klare Empfehlung.
