Definitely one for fans of the film at least, help support a wonderful, hugely underrated film and studio! Plenty of great art!
Lovely book, it just seems to have concept art only but it is beautiful and very insightful despite that. Definitely recommended for fans of the film of course but also good for people who are interested in concept art, animation, papercraft (origami), Japanese culture etc potentially. It does have a fair amount of text that describes the concept and production of the film as well as the history of the studio and people involved from the looks of it? I've not read the whole thing yet, but I've honestly enjoyed it, got my money's worth at least!

A good art book
LAIKA movies are probably some of my fave out there, when I saw this I wanted it so badly!! As an aspiring artist it’s so cool to see storyboards and a lot of concept art and such! Honestly, if u like looking at behind the scenes/ concept pieces I would recommend this piece. Probs my fave art book that I own. :)It also came in good condition and quite quickly!

Thin on stop motion process
This book is packed full of digital concept art but, compared to the other Laika 'art of' books, this Kubo companion piece hardly has any insight into the sets, puppets and processes associated with stop motion production. Not worth purchasing if you're interested in that side of the film.
