The best EDC pouch you will ever own...
I was already a big fan of Maxpedition pouches. From what they now call the 'legacy range', I have a couple of the larger beefy ones to keep stuff together in my vehicle and an EDC one in black which I have used for years and has kept all of my essentials in one place. Two reasons for this, firstly because they are easy to get to and you know where they are, and secondly because you can move them from bag a to bag b, in seconds, rather than having to unpack and repack bags. The legacy series are great, tough and almost indestructible and with great water proofing. Inside organisation works really well with elastic loops and pockets to get your stuff under control. But I decided to upgrade to the CAP as this is part of the Maxpedition AGR (advanced gear range) and I wanted to see what all of the fuss was about. I didn't honestly think that Maxpedition could make anything but very small improvements to their existing pouches, but I was very wrong about that. The CAP is streets ahead of its older version in so many ways. Let's look at my top 2.1: Organisation. The CAP has two compartments, so two sets of dual zippers. The pouch does not open fully in clamshell style as the original does, but the two compartments immediately gives you even more options for organisation. I didn't think I would need two compartments on my EDC pouch until I had them, and now I am a convert. In terms of space, I am not sure how Maxpedition did it, but all of the stuff from my legacy pouch went into the CAP and then there was room to spare. Given they are almost identical in height and width, and the depth of the full CAP was the same as the legacy one (I measured it), I was not sure how this was possible. But it fits more stuff and than it a big bonus. My current kit is shown in the photos above (minus a few items like a torch which is on charge) and you can see that the pouch seems about half empty. Maxpedition are using a new light coloured fabric inside which genuinely does make it easier to see your stuff, particularly in low light situations.2: LooksThe looks of the original EDC pouch were functional. I never really worried about aesthetics and function trumps fancy design any day. But the new CAP looks sleeker and just more polished than the old one. The use of two new materials on the CAP does it with the 500d ripstop nylon giving it a nice sleek look and the ATLAS system (a laser cut PALS system) on the front of the bag looking great too. Here is where Maxpedition have tweaked their original design and made some excellent improvements. The old pouches had a very shallow mesh pocket on the front, maybe enough to keep a pack of tissues or a cloth, but not much else. Then there was a square of velcro for a morale patch. Both of these were not that useful to be honest, so the sleek look of the ATLAS system won me over. I didn't plan on using the PALS to attach anything on the outside of the pouch, although I can see that I might attach two pouches together and then pass a strap through the D rings (another new addition) to make a small carrying pack. The CAP comes with the maxpedition tacties included which is an excellent move on their part as you have everything you need to attach it to another bag. The zip pulls are now moulded plastic rather than paracord loops, and that is also a great addition as your finger just fits in really easily. The zips are YKK and get smoother with use (they are stiff to start with) and are very strong so you can apply force to open the bag if you are in a hurry without fear of breaking them. This is not a cheap pouch, I think Maxpedition make the most expensive stuff in this 'edc pouch' category, but the cost is well worth it. If you are going to put stuff in this you use everyday then the ease of use and the time you will save not looking for 'lost' stuff will justify the cost. The other thing is that this will last and last and last, so you only have to buy it once and it is not going to let you down. Maxpedition build quality is the best and the price reflects it.

The pouch's design and construction are perfectly suited for everyday carry, and it's quickly become my go-to pouch for storing my essential gear.My only very minor con is that the pouch's interior pockets could benefit from a bit more padding to protect delicate items, but this is a very minor quibble.Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with the Maxpedition Cap Compact Admin Pouch, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality, compact admin pouch.Pros:- Perfectly designed with multiple compartments and pockets- Durable nylon construction and reinforced stitching- Compact size makes it perfect for everyday carry- Sleek design makes it easy to carry- High-quality materials and constructionCon:- Interior pockets could benefit from a bit more paddingRecommendation: If you're looking for a high-quality, compact admin pouch that's perfect for everyday carry, look no further than the Maxpedition Cap Compact Admin Pouch. MISSING STRAP
The pouch is very nice, unfortunately it did not arrive with the advertised 2 straps, so it cannot be fixed to my molle adequately and flops around a bit/is vulnerable to being caught on things. There is no means of directly contacting the seller so hopefully this is seen and the missing strap sent. This is quite happily a 5 star product and a review I'd amend to reflect that, once the missing strap is sent.***EDIT: I have edited this from the original 3 stars to 1 as the seller has not made any attempt to reach out to rectify regarding the feedback and/or send the outstanding strap and I have now had to pay £10 to purchase the strap individually.TLDR; the product is fine but missing item, poor service and notable cost to rectify.
