Took me 18 yrs to finally have one!
When I was in college, in architecture school, I took a class called digital fabrication, where we could use all sorts of gadgets, we had a complete wood workshop but also laser engraver, 3d printer and a full size cnc router. I had so much fun playing with these things and making different designs. But they were too expensive for me to even think about getting any. Fast forward 18 years and I found myself looking around to see if I could buy any smaller version that could still powerful enough and sturdy, not a toy. And one that could do other materials in addition to wood, after searching around for some time I decided on this one, because it has many of the characteristics I was looking for and its small enough to be used in my apartment. I must say that the installation is a bit complicated, I watched a video to try to understand how but it also comes with very specific instructions on how to do it. I'm pretty happy with it and I'm already looking into buying some other bits and accessories for it and maybe a 3d printer too? lol

Board isn't working after 5 months (and maybe 15 hrs of run time)
The device, now, ignores some commands and the controller interface no longer works. Spindle doesn't turn on when running code. Was pretty good when it worked, but I'm gonna have to look into getting a new mainboard for this thing. Glad I didn't do a ton of upgradesIt was honestly pretty cool when I got it. Lots of potential, but maybe some QC issues

A basic CNC router kit that you assemble at home.
This is a basic (meaning no frills) CNC router that comes with many of the components disassembled so that you must assemble it at home. I say that, because these days it seems that most things that you buy at a store are fully assembled and ready to go right out of the box, and anything that needs assembly is seen as somehow inferior. I am not saying this router is inferior, but if the idea of assembling some parts of it scares you, then this is not the router for you.Once assembled, the router performs well. It cuts into wood and other materials precisely and with adequate power. It does a good job.Software is the key to getting good results, and this router is compatible with the major open-source software programs. They each have their own individual learning curves and those curves can be steep, so do not plan on creating beautiful artworks until you have learned the software programs well. This is a good beginner CNC router, and it does a good job. Plus, you can purchase a laser head for it and turn it into a laser engraver, and that is pretty cool.Overall, I give it 4 stars.

Great for an at home workshop
I got this for my at home workshop and business and it works great. Lightburn software works great with the CNC machine. I haven’t had any issues. It’s very easy to use and it comes with a call it that fits several small or larger blades. You can actually get a second call it for the CNC machine you can actually purchase a laser for the CNC machine. It has the plug on the back to be able to connect the laser to. It is a very easy to assemble. It didn’t take long and I put it together myself.

Ehhhhh
Eh it’s okay but the head should be more stable for the price of this machine, it has all the power to be able to cut metal but bits keep braking due to the head moving around and vibrating to much kinda disappointed to be honest. Expected a better machine.

Sturdy build and nice to have the option to use a laser for engraving with additional purchase
I started looking at these small lab size CNC machines many years ago and they were a prohibitive cost. It's nice to see advances in design and such a huge price drop to make these affordable to anyone. This kit was easy to assemble and is very robust. I plan to get the optional laser head for this as well to work with metal. It helps a great deal to have previous CAD/CAM experience if you plan to create your own designs.

Easy setup
Right out of the box the packaging is great with no chance of damage. After following the instructions the setup was straight forward. It operates much like a 3D printer needing a gcode to tell it what to do.So far I have tested it with wood to create simple signs and I have not encountered any issues so far. The larger size lets me fit a bit bigger pieces of work in.
