Reliable Socket Set with Solid Storage Case and Great Feel
I’m really impressed with this socket set. The case is one of the first things that stood out to me, it’s solid and well designed, with hinged piece holders and a sturdy plastic divider that actually keeps everything where it should be. The tools themselves feel great in hand. They’ve got a good weight to them and feel solid and well made, which gives confidence when you’re using them on tougher jobs. I recently used this set while stripping an engine down to the valve cover, and it performed brilliantly. The sockets and ratchet handled the job without any issues and were especially good at reaching into tight spaces where some bulkier tools struggle. I’ve previously owned a Weissman set which I thought was a great kit, but this one has actually surpassed it in terms of overall feel, build quality, and usability. The price is also very reasonable for the level of quality you get, and it comes with a 10-year warranty, which adds extra peace of mind. Overall, it’s a well-built, practical set with a case that keeps everything organised and secure. The solid feel, good weight, and reliability during real work make it a great addition to any toolbox

Excellent value for money
I'm not a big reviewer of purchases, however I felt compelled to leave a review for this kit. I bought it on a bit of a whim as I needed it to change the brakes on my wife's car. The reviews seemed reasonable and against similar size kits the price is excellent. The kit contained everything I needed for the job, and also held up extremely well despite me putting it through it's paces to remove some very stubborn bolts. I'd agree with what others have said in that the box itself isn't perfect and things in the upper part tend to fall out. However, I'm more than happy to overlook that minor issue given the quality of the kit overall.

Impressive precision Quality.
The case containing this kit is a huge but very impressive typical German monster containing a varied compendium of everything a DIY car mechanic could possibly require. The weight indicates that for the price, you've chosen something very special. The quality of the bits and the machined finishing of the sockets, the spanners, and the ratched wrenches is first class, and the fit of the sockets upon the extension shafts is precise and very tight, with no loose play on the joints here. For those of you who dont know the name Mannesman, let me reasure you that you are buying a top quality spec tool set. Everything you use feels class, and the range of bits will see you provided with every size you will ever come across. I used this outfit to remove a gearbox and replace a clutch, and every nut and bolt were catered for when it came to the sockets. In summery my advice is clear, if you want a quality kit built to last a lifetime, then pay the price and buy this kit, you will not be disappointed. Its like the difference between a Trabant and a BMW, this kit is worth every penny and is simply superb.

great little kit for the price
great little kit for the price! the sockets, ratchets, spanners and attachments are solid and well made however the only two problems I've have with this kit are missing sizes and the driver bits are a little on the weak side. cons: some of the sockets jump sizes, for example the 1/2" goes 15mm, 17mm, 19mm, 20mm. so when you hit a 18mm nut you either have to see if you have a spanner in the lid or a spare one in your other tool boxes, they're not hugely common sizes but a little sigh inducing when you do stumble across one. now the screwdriver bits, this was my biggest disappointment. You are given a pretty expansive selection here, if there's a screw head you can think of the fitting is in this box. However, you better hope that screw isn't torqued down too hard because the metal/alloy the bits are made of is quite soft. not really really soft you can still put some power though them, but you try taking a posi-head screw that has been there for a while and only to realise you warp the head by the time you break it off its seat it's a bit disheartening, but I suppose the silver lining is when you put the screw back in you can warp it back to it's original shape ; ) pros: massive selection of bits 95% of the things you need to do either on the car or in the house will be in this box, very well made, feels solid in the hand and seems like it can take it's share of abuse whether your an amateur mechanic or someone who has got all the tools and just looking for some sacrificial tools to smash over rounded nuts. its a great kit (not perfect) and definitely worth the price. as for the box debate... in my opinion its all down to how you treat it. yes its a softish type of plastic and yes you'll snap the clips off if you don't put the bits back properly and try to force it closed, and yes all the bits will fall out if you open it upside down and that is the case with even the most expensive types of socket sets. But if you treat it with a bit of care it'll last you, it's portable, and it'll stand up to the abuse of even the most clueless DIY'er

Quality bit of kit
Genuinely blown away at the quality of this kit. I'd bought a cheap 1/4 set a while ago when I got my first car and I'd always wanted a half decent set but never wanted to pay the price for a halfords set as I don't do too much tinkering. Anyway, onto the product. The box is robust enough to not fail and collapse there's 4 interlocking clasps that hold both parts of the box together. Inside there's a push fit divider that keeps the sockets and w rachets away from the spanners etc. The tools feel very premium, there's a nice weight to the rachet and all the sockets feel like they're built to last. The spanners also feel really nice and nothing in the set feels too cheap. You get a warranty card in the socket set which along with proof of purchase gives you your 10 year to claim within this period of time for any items that may fail. As I say I've bought from mannesman before but this set really does feel premium. I'm glad I managed to get it at its reduced price of £80.
