My Water - Cure (New Edition)

Years ago, I read My Water Cure translated by John Lust. It was a much better translation. (No longer available, which is why I purchased this one.) This one is "OK" - but the translator spends way to much paper making fun of another translation, done at much the same time as this one originally was. There is some good information. There is also some alarming, not-so-good information and possibly dangerous practices. They were doing the best they could with what they knew at the time.I believe the best use for this book is as a historical view into some very old medical practices. I do not believe that pouring water over a person with cancer cured them, no matter how many times it was done, or what temperature the water was! Considering hygene 150 years or so ago - the water cure was probably beneficial for that alone!

Excellent volume on the methods employed by Father Kneipp to heal patients. There is so much for modern day physicians and alternative practitioners to glean from this simple volume concerning hydrotherapy and herbalism. While most would prefer a vaccine, a prozac, and a medrol dose pack as treatment, this work testifies to the effectiveness of these simple methods as Father Kneipp treated people all over the world including Barron Nathaniel Rothschild with excellent results. For those who want to glean some knowledge on hydrotherapy or want to explore its history, I highly recommend this book.

When he wrote about the techniques used in water therapy, I've found it's not as detailed as i had hoped.
