Thanks** A: Ive only used on 4 wire sensors. It haa a feature that will indicate if the tool is attached incorrctley. The clamps are a pierce through so no pin back probing required. I found it easy but not 100% accurate. **Q: the alligator clips look as though they pierce the insulation is this correct ?** A: The front end of the tips are simple clamps. The back end of the tips are of a multi needle pierce design. **Q: Can I check air/fuel ratio sensors with this tool?** A: I bought one several months ago. Works good on o2s but haven't tried a A/F sensor. It does give live switching so I don't see why it would not work.Most A/F seniors that I have seen failed through OBD heater fail . **Q: How do i know what material my oxygen sensor is? i tried looking it up and nothing! want to purchase but if i dont know what one its worthless.** A: There 4 types of o2 sensor, the most common was the zirconia O2, Titania O2, the wide band or narrow band O2. O2 sensor they do have part# by the manufacturer specific data will give you the type, on my experience I always use the most common Zirconia O2. On the downstream O2. Upstream A/F it may be a wide/ narrow band so the part# very important to search. The tester for me was a good one for diagnostic rather than guessing or looking up the live data, testing the lean and rich mode. The tester can simulate this mode, which will tell you if O2 sensor good or bad, the Test button will tell you respond of the O2. On the Mercedes part# they always tell the type of O2.
