your making the right choice by buying this
i use this every single week. this thing is built to last. this replaced a pizza stone i had for only two weeks before it cracked in the oven because cheese dripped onto it! so far had this thing 4 years and it has never failed me.

Bought as a gift
Bought as a gift for my brother.He loves this, it takes 40 minutes to heat up in his oven and then he adds his home made pizza to it.The pizza is the best he’s ever tasted, this product ensures a crispy base and he wouldn’t be without it.

Brilliant
Had a stone, the Calzone leaked, the stone shattered. Many a pizza and calzone have leaked onto this and obviously it has been fine (because you know, its a hunk of metal), gets really hot, We make some fab pizzas with this. Have also used for cake baking for more even cooking and it works great here too. Dont get it wet.

As good as it gets in a domestic oven.
If you can perfect a pizza dough recipe for a domestic oven, this steel can deliver it.I go for top of the oven, as close to the heat element as I can, pre heated for 1hour.

rust after first usage despite dried carefully after cleaning
It was not seasoned properly, next day after the first use it looks like this - full with rust.

I didn’t get what I ordered
Like others this was not the product I ordered, it was a twenty something pound crepe making kit.Amazon refunded me the difference,Other than that it works well but hard to keep clean without damaging / rusting the item.

Excellent and affordable baking steel
I bought this baking steel after my pizza stone cracked. After half a year of use, without a doublt, I prefer the steel. It is much more durable, and the performance is excellent. I use the steel mostly to bake sourdough bread. I always get a fantastic crust on the bottom of the bread, something I never got from the pizza stone.Before first use, I seasoned the steel with a thin coat of oil. It is relatively easy to clean, just do not use soap, it will ruin the seasoning. In terms of weight, I do not feel it is heavier than a pizza stone.I highly recommend getting this baking stone for anyone who bakes bread; the quality is excellent and it is affordable.

For a better undercarriage
One 1 dislike, why glue on a paper when its plastic wrapped? Once cleaned, a good improvement of the stone. When your oven doesn't get to 400°C it gets the bottom char done. Delivery on time and in good condition.

Excellent Baking Steel for No Knead Artisan Bread and Pizza
I had a difficult time trying to decide if I should get a heavier steel, or this one that weighs in at 7.5lbs. In the end I chose the Pizzacraft Baking Steel as I did not want to have the hassle of the extra heft of a heavier steel. I made the right choice for me.I was making my no knead whole wheat bread in a stainless steel Dutch Oven. Now I slide the loaf right onto this steel and it comes out fantastic. The loaf puffs up and the outside crisps just like bakery artisan bread does. I also made pizza the other night, and it was the best pizza I had ever made. Even at 500 degrees F the steel did not warp. It comes pre-seasoned so clean up is a breeze. Just treat the steel like any seasoned pan. Scrape the steel, then under hot water I give it a scrub with a steel scrubbie. Do not use soap or you will ruin the seasoning. Dry immediately so that the steel does not rust.I will preseason the steel every couple of months as I will be using this steel 1-3 times a week. Excellent purchase, just perfect for my needs.

It DOES make your Pizza better! But it is thin.
Got really excited when I found out about the possibility of this steel as an alternative for a pizza stone.And to be honest it definitly is, especially after there is a nice coating on top of it!The only problem is: The Pizza aint getting brown enough on the bottom side.Probably because of the lacking thickness.My uneducated guess is, that the lack of thickness leads to a lower temperatur on the bottom side, if the pizza is big / heavy "cold (roomtemperatur)" enough. While the heatsource is above the pizza its getting much faster done on the top then bottom side. So if you do have a higher Budget I reccomand a thicker one.As a first try or for lower budget its does increase the quality of the pizza by a huge quantity.
