Really useful book and the best one for the genuine Hay diet plan. I started doing this several years ago to rid myself of permanent indigestion and it works for that but I also lost weight and felt so much better. More energy, slept better etc Easier to follow than you might first think. Highly recommend. Had to order a new book as I had lost my original copy.

If you have health problems, this might help.
I have experienced amazing health benefits from learning about and applying the information in this book, and the blue one in this series, the Food Combining Diet. If anyone suffers from indigestion, and any related symptoms, this book on food combining will surely help. It also helped me with 'monthly' problems and just about every aspect of my general health which, for some time, had not been so good. To be really effective, it really is best to stick to the advised regime for at least the first few weeks. I noticed an almost immediate difference to my arthritis pain, which actually improved after only 3 days. This was the thing that made me determined to keep going with the food combining way of eating. After some months, my chest pains stopped and also the intermittent claudication I had experienced for a year or so. That has now completely gone. Food combing also helps one to lose weight if that is a problem. It is easy as you don't usually have to eat less, just combine meals correctly. All in all, a very good buy which I would be happy to recommend to anyone, as I have done many times.

Ordering food stuffs and avoiding processed foods helps digestion.
Good advice here on processed food, margarine production ...yuck.. and getting different food stuffs in order for easier digestion.

Brilliant book. However, to make it work, one most try hard to follow the advice it lends to the reader.

Ground-breaking for those with constant health issues
Like all Doris Grant's books, this one is well researched. This one is also based on many years of personal experience.This book is for anyone who suffers from overweight which they cannot control, and for those suffering from health issues which are constant and irritating. There are other versions of the Food Combining Diet and I would recommend this to anyone who decides to give it a try. Would also suggest that they read different versions by different authors and decide which one suits them best.

Food Combining
This book is really useful when learning about food combining. The stomach digests different types of food differently. Proteins, fats and proteins require different environments in order to extract all the nutrients. If you'de like the know which foods to eat together and in which order, then this book is essential.

It ok but then again its just a cook book

Out-dated?
Once I started to read this book, I realised that I had read it YEARS ago. It is still interesting, but has been superseded by others which take account of more modern research and thinking. I have a book on the same subject by Kathryn Marsden, for example, which is far livelier and much easier to follow.
