Most Fun Deck-Builder I've Played - This is THE VERSION of CLANK! to try first!
I love this game! If you have friends able to understand and enjoy playing a deck-builder like Dominion, GET THIS GAME! I enjoyed this game so much I'm getting the Legacy version, Acquisitions Incorporated. The genius of the design of this game is in the tile based map you lay out as play. It makes the game very manageable and replayable once you have the basic understanding of the rules. The rules take abt 30min to watch a video of or explain, and you'll reinforce that as new players get started. It gives plenty of time to setup if you already know the rules. The rules are very similar to Dominion, where you build out a deck that you draw hands of 5 from (which you MUST play all of) that you can play in any order. The cards let you move, fight, or gain cards for resources. The theme is super fun, where you're adventure thiefs trying to be quiet but CLANK!-ing eventually, which risks a bone dragon coming to attack you. This game is a great example of story-telling via strategy and pushing-your-luck, so that players walk away feeling like they had a small adventure with a story they can tell others abt their game, even if they didn't win. The players also lay out the map one tile at a time as they expand outwards, which makes them feel included in the game's setup.I haven't tried the other versions of CLANK! personally, but other accounts suggest to me that this version is the best standalone version to try, as they lack the tile map system that I think is really what made this game fantastic to me.

Imaginative, fun, re-playable
This deck-building game, with cards, tiles, tokens, and player cubes is colorful and fun to play. From the witty quotes on character cards, to the way the game board changes, not only from game to game, but also within the game, this is a good time. Every game different. Every game interesting. I recommend it for 2 to 4 players. I'm 67, and it took me several games to get comfortable and fluent with the complexity and rules. My daughters are in their 30s and 40s, and they were comfortable after just two times playing.

Great game
Very nice mix of a deck builder and dungeon crawl, with endless combination of situations.I have played it a number of times and just want to play it more.Works well with all levels of players but there is a bit of a home advantage of knowing the game. Also works very well as a 2 players game, which is a rare feat.

Excellent twist to an already excellent game
We've been playing Clank! since it was first released, and we love it. We have every expansion to the original base game as well as Clank! Legacy. This new standalone game is so easy to learn if you've played any version of Clank! before. There are a number of new, fun cards to learn. The money is in the dynamic game board, though. It is solid gold (figuratively, not literally). Every game is different, and it is much more difficult to plan out your entire strategy ahead of time, since the game changes as you play. I can't overstate how much fun this adds to an already incredibly fun game!If I have one complaint, it's the price. At the time I purchased it, it cost me a whopping $75, which is way too much. I paid it anyway, because I love Clank!, but they need to bring the price down to around a $50 price point, IMO. Regardless, we love the game, and we highly recommend it!

Love this game, great condition!
Came in pristine condition. Clank catacombs quickly became our most loved game. At first it’s daunting to try to understand everything in the rules book. I would recommend getting a high level understanding of set up and how a turn works then dive into playing. We naturally understood the rest of each piece and tile as we played. We immediately played 4 sessions in 2 days, resulting in hours of fun. Each game took 2-4 hours. The more players meant longer play time, because each player had to plan and take their action. Setup was fairly quick since you build the map as you go. The gameplay was easy to catch on

Excellent revision to the Clank format
Clank! is one of my favorite games. I love the replayability of this. An additional resource (lockpicks) adds a new twist where you may want to ration what all you pick up and open, but it can open new paths for everyone. Prisoners won't have a huge impact unless you get the dungeon map that changes everything. exploration, deck building, a race to the exit. i feel like it has more cards with dragon attacks than the base game, but it does make it more strategic. we have played where everybody died in the depths and no points were scored. it was disappointing, but at the same time exciting. add in the adventuring party expansion and there are a lot of little pieces to keep up with so my box is a mess, but if you love deck builders, it's definitely worth it.

Very fun game.
I have played the original Clank! and found that after you have played over 20 times you had an advantage over people that have not. You know where to go and the best way to get there fast. In Catacombs the board is different every single game. This has allowed me to play a fair game each time I play no matter the experience of the players in the game. Loads of fun and an enjoyable game.
