Simply Scandinavian

I love that this book had a mixture of old and new and that each home told a story. I like to read about the design, just as much as I like to look at the pictures. I was a little disappointed that the primary focus seemed to be on the wealthy. I was hoping for a Scandinavian design book on how the 'everyday' home is lived in. These were either secondary homes or complete gut jobs with architects and designers involved (nothing simply about that). I'm not anywhere close to the budgets of these home owners but that doesn't mean I cannot take inspiration from this book, and it was certainly filled with lots of beautiful and inspiring photos.

Purchased as a Christmas gift for my nephew. He seemed pretty excited about it.

It is a good book that goes through different elements of Scandinavian design including country, it is not just about post WWII modern Scandinavian design.

This book pleased me with various styles of Scandinavian living rather than the predictable.I found it very interesting, well produced, lovely photography and a good reference book.

This book is inspiring if you like clean, simple and chic design. Great design is inspired by your own personal items and experiences and things you love and have substantial and significant meaning--Scandinavian design embodies this aesthetic and that's why I love it--this book fosters that style.

Really ,really like this book. Wonderful photos of lovely, liveable houses . If you like Scandinavian houses and decorating style, this book is perfect for inspiration and enjoyment. A very pleasing treasure of a book.

Although the book had some interesting ideas. Just not what I was looking for... Wanted more information on Swedish design! Had mostly information on Norwegian design. That's why I only gave it a two star review!

This book is such a mine of information about Scandinavian style and how they love light and uncluttered interiors. Beautifully photographed too and such an inspiration for anyone who wants to copy this style in their home. Highly recommended.

Great pictures along with a concise description of the style and how to use it as inspiration in your own home. I would have like to have seen more examples of each of the styles represented (such as designer or eclectic) - this would have provided more inspiration and a greater understanding of 'how' the rooms were put together.There are probably more instructive and informative books available for those who want to replicate Scandi style in their homes.
