Great mat, minimal import tax
Bought this so I could finally start hosting some RL games. The mat is of a strong plastic that seems like it'll last a long time without getting brittle. It has a sort of odd smell currently but it's not too bad and will likely be gone in a few days of being aired. Mat came with specific instructions on which pens to order (only Water-Soluble, not dry-erase, they recommend Stadler-brand water-soluble overhead-projection pens). They warn that you shouldn't leave marks overnight, especially not red, purple, brown and yellow since these are the most likely to stain. But I have a large sheet of thin clear PVC which I will be cutting to size and using in order to preserve the life of the mat so this was not going to bother me. This is actually the smallest size of Chessex mat available currently, with the square grid being 15x16 1"1/2 squares. The hex size has 16 x 17 1 1/2" hexes. Item arrived pretty quickly from America with no hidden charges, very happy. Will try and save up for the larger sizes in future!

This is not the larger size it is only small having to use each square to be 10 ft instead of five

Import duty - beware Gaming broker is US company
This product is being shipped from the states! No it does not say on the amazon page or as far as I can see on the page of the supplier gaming broker. This means that you are at risk of import duty into europe. Gaming broker say that they lie on the parcel saying it only worth £5 but you are responsible if customs think that anything is owed.
