Bush Furniture Universal 2 Shelf Bookcase in Vogue Cherry

Very sturdy and easy to assemble. Like the dark color and price.

I love the Bush Furniture line. I have purchased and assembled desks, 5-shelf bookcases and now these 2-shelf bookcase units. The only "downside" is, ironically, also an "upside".... the pieces are heavy because they are true wood. The 2-shelf bookcases could be assembled by just 1 person, but anything larger than that does require 2 people at certain times - just for lifting and placement of the pieces. The assembly engineering is brilliant - I love the "cams + bolts" assembly technique that connects pieces that fit at a 90-degree angle. The engineering is so well done that, for a nerd like me, half of the fun is actually doing the assembly! It's fun. If you like quality furniture at a reasonable price and you enjoy the assembly itself (and you have 1 person who can help to lift at key points during assembly), then I highly recommend this whole furniture line. It is an A++ product.

i purchased this item so it can match my current desk. they do not show you the pictured of this item from the back, the back is just black paper board, they didn't bother to match the same color or design in the back, which is the part i wanted to show off to the outside. i literally cant even use this now.

This is a good looking item, but the assembly was something else. I have assembled so much furniture over the last few years. Most recently, I got a lifting coffee table from Wayfair. It was time consuming, because there were multiple drawers and a LIFTING TOP, but nothing like the horrendous experience putting together a few shelves. First of all, make sure you have all of the tools available and hand, because they include no tools. Second of all, the instructions are like trying to interpret hieroglyphics half of the time, because none of my fasteners were labeled, and the diagrams are so basic. I was ready to return it about an hour in, but it’s so dang heavy that I couldn’t imagine getting it back to the retailer. I don’t like supporting Amazon right now as it is, but I was struggling to find anything to fit the dimensions I needed. Last time I do that with Amazon, 80% of the time a disappointment when it comes to furniture.
