Kiwi #504 3" Mini Cleaver

I bought this knife because I have long wanted to try a knife from this brand. And, miniature versions things are fun. I tried it out by slicing some cheese off of a block of cheddar and slicing some brussels sprouts in half. It definitely is sharp and, for cheese, it is easier to cut straight slices than with a standard paring knife. The fit and finish is far from bad considering the price point. I see myself grabbing this thing multiple times a week for various tasks that I dont want to use a full-sized knife for. It will be interesting to see how long it stays sharp and how easy it is to put a sharp edge on it in the future. This definitely is not going to be something that you use for 'cleaving' anything unless you're a koala bear chopping eucalyptus leaves or something like that. It has a three inch blade and weighs maybe a couple of ounces. It's not going to win any awards for economy of motion, but it is a fun and functional little knife.

Nice and sharp. Purchased 3 years ago, they're still going strong. Wood handle is dyed or stained from the factory. The color has washed out, but that's no issue for me. I add melted beeswax on handle so it doesn't splinter and break.

The Kiwi #504 three-inch mini-cleaver knife appears to be a toy, but it is actually a very useful knife. It is also a fun knife, because it pushes the limits of what is possible, when using a tiny knife. When it arrived, I gave it a few quick swipes on a whetstone, and I have subsequently used it, daily, for an entire month, without the need for additional sharpening. I use it as a half-length version of a Japanese nakiri (vegetable) knife, which typically has a blade that is 6.5 inches long and 1.5 to 2 inches tall. This Kiwi knife cuts effortlessly, through all vegetables that I have tried. I hand-wash it and dry it immediately. I expect it to easily last for a lifetime.

I love this little knife..I have really small hands so it's perfect for me. It's really sharp & can slice tomatoes thin for sandwiches,& great for all veggies..even meat. Took one star off for the annoying Kiwi sticker on the handle. It left a sticky residue hard to remove! Other than that,it's too cute & perfect.

its really nice honestly! its not some top tier knife but it does what you need it to. it was a christmas present for my friend and he loves it

Bought as a "gag" gift for my daughter (her nickname is Kiwi). The knife is very lightweight but sharp so be careful!

It's great for cutting small items. I usually use it to cut apples. I don't use it for peeling, but for slicing. It was also good to use instead of a cheese knife. It's small, so it's easy to clean, and there's nothing better for cutting small fruits.

I absolutely love this little guy, I actually bought this because of one of those viral videos of the mini kitchens and fell in love. I looked all over the internet for it and found this, a lot of people were concerned about it being too small but i read the description and knew exactly what i was getting. It's lightweight and super sharp. It also came with this cute little letter saying they are a family business and appreciate the support. All in all it'll make an excellent addition to my charcuterie board!

I buy these repeatedly to gift to knife nerd friends - they love how quirky it is. Tiny size means there isn't much blade length to get a slicing motion going, but it works quite well as a cheese knife. Handle is SMALL in my size L hand, for sure. But darn is it cute. The price seems to fluctuate a lot on these so watch for a good price before you buy :)
