Q: Is this Dishwasher safe?

Yes and no. You can put it in the dishwasher but it will hold onto a soapy taste. It should only be washed with baking soda and vinegar.

Q: What's the size of these 'challettes?'

They are 4 inches x 4 inches and about 2 3/4 inches high. The size of a large hamburger bun, just taller.

Excellent question. Can only sort of reverse engineer an answer, however. We made a recipe that would have made 2 challahs. It made four challah rolls. They were very large “rolls”. Happy to pour water into one of the rolls and see how much it holds. Of course, water doesn’t rise, the dough does. The instructions that came with the pan said to use an ice cream scoop. We used a ladle, large and did not fill each one to the top allowing for the rising dough. We could have gone with less dough in each. It works out that each roll is 1/2 challah. Wow. Hasn’t looked at it that way. That said, the pan is terrific and the ginormous rolls did look braided. If only the gluten free dough was easier. Do not hesitate to ask me to measure for you if my attempt at an answer did not work.
