I can’t believe I did it
I’ve been going to get sugar waxed professionally for about a year so the hair on my legs has certainly lessened and thinned out. With summer and needing to wax more often I wondered if I could do it at home (I don’t shave at all anymore) to be able to do it more often and save money. I tested out some pre-waxed strips on my armpits and they worked ok and got the majority of hair but with not being able to do spots more than 2 times without heavy irritation I decided that wasn’t going to be a good route for my legs. Leaving this review after just one use of Sugardoh. It really is a great product and I already love it! It can be messy, especially for a first timer so here’s my experience: I watched a few videos on their YouTube and read the leg instructions on their website. It all seemed pretty straightforward but I knew it wasn’t going to be perfect or super easy the first time. I took a shower and exfoliated beforehand, got out, dried off and put some of the pre-waxing powder on my legs before I started. I got a ping pong size ball of wax out and started to try and smear it on to my leg with the plastic applicator but it wasn’t going on very easily. I used my fingers instead for a bit which seemed to work better until the product warmed up a bit but it sticks everywhere! It took me probably an hour to get my legs done. I hopped in the shower after I was done and rinsed off any residue. The key is getting a good thinned out layer on before pulling. In my opinion, this process honestly hurts more than the actual waxing - maybe because my hair was long and it was really grabbing it. I did get a little red sensitively right after but it went away after a few hours. It was easy to touch up small areas I missed. I also love that this product is compostable and you don’t have to use strips or create a bunch of waste with popsicle sticks or anything. I’m looking forward to trying my armpits and maybe bikini line. I don’t think I’ll be brave enough to do my full Brazilian, I’ll leave that to my pro girl!

Favorite Sugar Waxing Kit (Plus Tips)
My go-to sugar waxing kit! Already purchased this 3-4 times and I've noticed a huge difference in my hair regrowth in my pits and bikini areas in the past year and a half. My hairs now come back more slowly and less coarse. Easy application once you start doing it more and a lot cheaper than going out and getting it done baby someone else. Some tips when using this product and what personally worked for me: - BABY POWDER. After you clean and prep the areas to be waxed, make sure to apply baby powder to those areas as well so that the sugar wax will stick. Saw a girl mention this in a YouTube tutorial and it works (otherwise I find that the wax doesn't stick properly/evenly to my hairs despite my skin being dry). - Heat up the container in the microwave for 15-20 seconds. I know this says you don't have to heat it up but I find that heating it up to a consistency that makes it easier to scoop helps a lot - just let it cool for about a minute or two before applying. - Use the cloth strips provider or buy more to use when you run out. The ball method didn't really work for me but applying the wax, pressing the cloth, and ripping it off like a bandage is soooo much easier and faster.

Great back up solution or if you want to see "face"
The packaging is amazing. The instructions are very clear and to the point. I like that it came with visuals and easy steps to understand. The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating is just because it is a messy clean up if this is your first time ever waxing yourself. It took me and my spouse a few tries to get the right amount on to do my chin and jawline. I have PCOS and grow VERY thick hair in these areas and it took a bit of practice till we found out groove. However, this being both our first time ever doing this I was pretty surprised on the outcome and clean up afterwards. Wash the cloths with hot/warm water with mild soap to help the sugar break down to go down the drain smoothly. Or I will probably boil the cloths next time so I can toss the water outside. I most definitely will be buying this again in the future when I cannot see my regular aesthetician.

Do NOT recommend:(
This is hands down the WORST beauty product I have ever used. I have an at home, waxing pot and have used it for years, I’ve recently started getting my Brazilian sugared by a professional and decided to try it at home. This product, no matter what the temp, is a complete nightmare. It sticks to your hands so bad that it’s not functional at all. The size guide for surface area recommendations is insane to even think about. It would take the entire pot, some alcohol and a lot of panic attacks and tears to even do one leg. I love to support small businesses and I hate to be the outsider on this, but this was a complete nightmare. I’m sorry. The spatula was useless the sugar just stuck to it. I don’t want to use a cloth because I might as well just do waxing. I have the flick method down, but getting it out of the pot and spreading it is nearly impossible. I would not recommend this unless you were my worst enemy. I am so upset by this product and cannot wait to return it :(

Awesome!
My 11 year old was looking for ways to get rid of leg hair without being pokey afterwards. I didn't think she would tolerate waxing and from experience I know sugaring is generally less painful. We tried this on her legs the first night using the cloth strips. It did an ok job and I loved that it could be rinsed away unlike waxing. A few days later we tried again but decided to try the method from the videos . Spreading against the hair was the most painful part. Ripping downwards using the spreading tool was a breeze! It took very little time to do both legs and I used the same piece of product for both legs! Awesome product. Learning curve but easy enough to get the hang of.

Meh
It does an okay job. It gets most hairs pretty good, but misses some, so my legs were pretty patchy. It’s not super painful, just depends on how sensitive the area is. It gets pretty sticky and messy, though. I recommend either doing it in the shower or having a bowl of water, a hand towel, a cup for the used dough, and some paper towels with you when you do it. I also bruised from it pretty bad. I don’t think it’s for me personally, and I’d only recommend to someone who can handle a normal waxing, or getting a tattoo, as well as someone who doesn’t care if it’s a little messy. Otherwise, I think I’d just go for an epilator.

Quick and Easy!
Whoa! I am shocked! I tried hot wax at home 15+ years ago and it was horrible. So it took me that long to brace waxing again. But when I saw sugar wax has the potential to reduce hair growth or stop it completely, I had to try it! And I am amazed! I tried it tonight for the first time on my upper lip. I used the strip. And it was so quick and easy and virtually painless. It felt basically the same as tweezing but it’s so quick and easy to pull that it’s shockingly simple! Then rinsed the cloth with warm water. Rinsed my face. Patted on Aloe Vera oil. And ta-da! 10/10 recommend! Will try my legs when I have more time. I’ll try to remember to update my review after that experience. Might even brave my armpits with the simplicity of it all! 12/6: update: I waxed my armpits! It hurt less than my face, maybe a 2/10. BUT here is the best part- I did it earlier this week. Had to go to my daughter’s wrestling tournament today. My deodorant def wore off because my pits were sticky (TMI) but no BO! Like none! Had no clue that was a benefit! Learn something new every day!

You can do this!! I can’t do eyeliner or false lashes but I can do this!
I use this for my underarms and bikini line and have been using the past 4 months. I have been professionally waxed at European wax center so I will be comparing the two experiences. I have many positives to share and few negatives: I can’t believe I did this myself! It’s extremely daunting the first time, it is a little painful the first time. I did have some blood where the roots were pulled out. Just a few little spots here and there (underarms). Armpit hair is very coarse because we are constantly shaving it, it will be tougher to remove than leg hair. The second time is NOT as bad! And I will say, the area gets a little numb from the “trauma” of it, so it hurts less and less during one session. Professional waxing hurts. I feel like this hurts slightly less. I don’t even think about the pain now, it’s no biggie. You just have to get through that first painful session and it’s smooth sailing after that. The FIRST time I did my underarms it took about 2 hours. I have very coarse hair and had to keep going over areas, and I was just getting used to It. Now after 4 months it takes me 30-45mins realistically. That seems like a long time, and it might be, but I like to take my time. Yes, there will be several hairs that you just can’t get. That’s ok and normal. When I was professionally waxed, the gal had to take tweezers at the end and finish removing those pesky little stragglers. So, I too take tweezers and pluck out the few that I couldn’t otherwise get. It doesn’t hurt! Like I said, the area will be numb from the waxing so you won’t really feel it. Also from my experience, don’t do this after showering because your body will be too hot and the sugar won’t want to stick. Just clean your underarm with a cold wet washcloth before starting, then shower afterward. If you are too hot or sweating, this isn’t going to work. Turn on the AC if you have to! The sugar will not adhere if there is any type of moisture present. The most important step not to forget is to powder the skin with baby powder first! And you will have to reapply many, many times. If you don’t apply baby powder, the sugar will adhere to the skin, not the hair, and that WILL hurt. Apply baby powder and the sugar will stick to the hair and rip them out much better! After mastering my underarms (with the strips because I find those to be the EASIEST method), I decided to try the bikini line. And I will say, it hurt but it didn’t hurt as badly as I expected it to. The area that’s the most sensitive is the frontal pubic area, I avoid that because that truly does hurt. So just keep your underwear on and follow that as your sugaring guideline. I am so happy with the results and it leaves you with baby soft skin, it truly is amazing. Just take your time, this will work! I was extremely doubtful during my first session, thinking there was no way all this hair was going away, you just have to keep going and going. Spread the sugar in the opposite direction the hair is growing. My underarm hair grows in like 50 different directions, so you will have to go over it many times to get each different hair pattern. These are my negatives- I do not like the jar, while it is cute, it’s extremely difficult to get every bit of product out of it because there are too many nooks and crannies. It needs to have a wider mouth and straight edges all around. My other beef is that the small underarm jar claims that it is enough for 14 waxes. I completely disagree with that, I don’t know how anyone would get that many waxes out of one jar. I’ve already purchased 4x in 4 months. I would say one jar is enough for 3-4 underarm waxes.
