Rechargeable Barking Collar for Small, Medium and Large Dogs

I had my doubts about this collar, but we were desperate to find something that would work for our one-year-old standard poodle, whose bark is high-pitched and almost painful to our ears. She was barking for hours every day, mainly at the bearded dragon in his habitat, which we couldn't move to a different room. This was stressing the dragon, us, and our poodle out immensely! I did not want a shock collar and refused to get one, so when I found the STOPWOOFER that uses only sound and vibration, I ordered it, not expecting it to do much. We got it, charged it, put it on our pup, and hoped for the best. The first time it went off when she barked, she looked confused but not in pain or distress. This cycle of bark, collar emitting beep and vibration, and our pup looking confused lasted for an afternoon. We took it off that night for bed and hoped she wouldn't start barking. She didn't, and we all slept well. The next day, we put it back on her, and the number of times she went through the cycle of bark, collar working, and confusion was cut in half from the previous day. Two days later, there was no barking, and one week later, we actually stopped putting on the collar first thing in the morning. Still very little to no barking! We have only used the collar a handful of times since then, and usually she stops barking as soon as she sees it. In other words, BUY THIS COLLAR! It worked wonders for our very smart poodle who was prone to barking. And, it trained her without shocking her. Now, she sits quietly watching the bearded dragon or playing with the kids without stressing out everyone in the house.

Update: still living the collar. I have to get it out every once in a while when my dogs barking gets out of hand. He is having more anxiety again. By the loves this collar. He will get up off his bed and come to me to put it in when I get it out of the drawer. The only drawer back is I wish the battery lasted longer. It’s very reasonable, however longer would be ideal. I put it on the charger and then forget to put it back on the dog. I don’t know why my dog likes it. Could be like I said prior and that it helps regulate him? 🤷🏻‍♀️ We adopted a dog about to be euthanized for the shelter. He instantly loved me but was resource guarding me and was very aggressive toward my husband. The barking was insane. Every time my husband walked into a room I was in or the dog through my husband was coming in. My neighbor could hear him. It was constant stress because if it didn’t stop I’d have to rehome him because my neighbors can’t suffer. We hired a dog behaviorist and she recommended a collar. So we got this one. WARNING: Only negative is that it would go off when he shook his head and the tags made noise or if he squeaked a toy. I didn’t want that because he is a sensitive boy coming out of a bad situation. I had to remove his collar but don’t like doing that just in case he ever got out. I contacted the company and they sent me the hand held one and that one works great and I love it. Works on my little chihuahua. Anywho- this really worked. It did take some time and the set up of the collar is kind of a pain in the butt to have to do. Especially when you have ADHD. So if you can focus, it’s a breeze. Fixed my dog. He still barks but just once or twice. It kind of helped him self regulate! Great tool if used properly. There is much to like about the Stopwoofer bark collar: long battery life, rechargeable battery, excellent customer support, small/lightweight, user friendly functions, good value for the price, and “reasonably effective”. What do I mean by reasonably effective? First, some background regarding my doggie bark situation: My wife and I care for a four year old Australian cattle dog, Kate, who is well-behaved, calm mannered, and obedient—-most of the time. However, Kate has extremely strong predator instincts which are triggered by the sight of any wildlife encountered during a daily walks. Be it coyotes, deer, bobcat or wildfowl such as quail or roadrunner. Once triggered, Kate quickly transitions to an out-of-control barking frenzy. We have tried various methods attempting to control this behavior, including reward treats, ultrasonic frequency transmitters, and small high-pitched air horns, but to no avail. We don’t like shock collars. The Stopwoofer bark collar is the only device that has been reasonably effective. Has it stopped the barking entirely? No. But it has greatly reduced the duration of Kate's barking frenzies and I am satisfied with the partial success we have experienced with the Stopwoofer. I don’t think that, given Kate’s genetic makeup, there is any device short of a shock collar that will entirely prevent her barking. Hence, my qualifier, “reasonably effective”. I recommend trying the Stopwoofer as a humane solution to one’s dog barking issues.
