Review: Fun game! More in-depth strategy than traditional Risk - Okay, first of all. Don't think this is just Risk with a new map. This is a much deeper, more complex game where the different unit types have different characteristics. To play each player chooses an army and a starting city, then they basically set out to conquer as much of the map as possible. Taking control of certain cities gives you perks to improve areas of your game. An example would be that taxing Madrid, France or London rewards you with extra units, one city makes castles half-price to build and another means whenever you buy siege equipment you get free infantry to go with it. Orders are given via cars, you can play two a turn and battles are decided by a series of dice rolls. It's not a fast game to play, but it offers deeper strategy than risk and is more interesting for it. A con of this game is that is exponentially better to play with the right number of players. If you play with less than four players the game is somewhat compromised with the remaining army operating as mercenaries that can be hired by the highest bidder. This adds more strategic options, but to me weakens the gameplay experience. The models are quite detailed for their size and cost, but obviously they aren't citadel miniatures! You get 4 armies, each consisting of infantry, archers, cavalry and siege equipment. You also get castles and crowns. The castle are placed on the map and the crowns are used to track which cities are held. You also get a plastic coin which gets passed around to record which player is currently 'going first' (This changes throughout the game) The coins are a little disappointing. They are basically little bits of pressed out card in the denominations of silver and gold. Otherwise all the components of the game are good quality and should stand up to years of play. To sum up: An interesting new take on Risk. Yes, it's a bit more complicated to play, but I actually think it's better for it!
Review: Risk Europe, honest review...! - Risk, in my opinion is by far one of the greatest games out there. It can be slightly confusing at times in the beginning, and you will have to check the book to clarify any issues for nearly every game, but the more you play, the more fun you have with this game. The book or Game Guide is the most important piece in any version of Risk. It's not an easy read persay, so get help if needed, or even interpret what you think is right, you can always adjust to the right way next game, or round. One big aspect that I love about Risk is, the fact that the game can be manipulated to create different scenarios even before the game actually starts. You can add unspoken rules with players who enjoy the game with you, and those rules can stand throughout every game thereafter. I.E Berlin and Rome are power cities and are not allowed in the beginning choice of cities. Another big one is, every time you play, the game will be different depending on your imagination and card selection. So, the King of the Castle can change very easily, so keep the Ego in check. One thing to be aware of in any game of Risk, is the time consumption. For myself, games can last days, if you have the paitence, and to be honest I'm in a 3 day peace treaty currently. Soon to change though. BWHAHAHAHAHAAA! If you're not me, and just want a game to enjoy with some friends, be aware that you will be playing from at least an hour. Though, I've never seen a game last anywhere less than 2 hours. It is a game to have in your personal collection, however, which version always gets me. Risk Europe is a great choice as a starter, but it will come down to personal preference... The contents: Everything was in the box as described, and in perfect condition as well. I've added a photo of my current game of 2 players, and a Rogue/Mercenary army. I'm Green, O.P is Blue, Rogue is Purple. Blue thought I was out to get Paris when I arrived in London, hence the build up of defence on both sides. Peace Treaty signed here! Last but not least: Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer. Have fun conquering which ever world of Risk you deem worthy and Good Luck.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: The reviews all seem pretty recent...is this version a new game? And how does it compare to regular version?**
A: Yes it's a new game. The game was released in August 2016. The game play is different from the original. For example the game includes different types of soldiers(Calvary, archers and siege weapons) your army is purchased through a currency system instead of collecting cards and the addition of a supply line which adds a separate strategy to the game play. The attack bs defense has also been modified. It is no longer on a 3 dice system. The battles vary based on different types of army units as well as the amount of Jesé units. For example if you have 4 Calvary units, you roll 4 dice to attack. I highly recommend this game to fans of risk. It is a fresh approach to the classic game and look forward to future civilizations they may add.

**Q: How does this compare to castle risk from the mid 80's-early 90's?**
A: I think this is a better game; if for no other reason than Castle Risk actually started as a separate game but they had so much success with Risk that they "jammed" the Risk aspects into the Castle game and while it was ok it was still a jam. This is really a risk plus based in Europe.

**Q: Are the pieces plastic or metal? Thanks!**
A: Plastic pieces

**Q: What cultures are represented?**
A: No "cultures" per se are represented. The pieces, however, represent three Western European "uniform" types and one Turk/Ottoman
